The star duets have become a firm fixture for the X Factor since their introduction a few years ago. This year, each of the four remaining acts will be performing with superstars on Saturday night, before one goes home and leaves the remaining three to battle it out again on Sunday.
It is rumoured that Matt Cardle will be performing with Christina Aguilera
, and Cher Lloyd with will.i.am
of the Black Eyed Peas, who helped Cheryl choose to put Cher through to the final stages of the competition.
Rhianna
and Robbie Williams
are also set to perform, although it has not yet been revealed which will do so with 1 Direction and which with Rebecca Ferguson.
Both Matt Cardle and Mary Byrne are struggling with illness ahead of tomorrow’s X Factor semi-final it has been revealed.
We reported last week that Matt nearly missed the quarter finals, and it seems he still hasn’t recovered. He had to pull out of a Talk Talk secret gig earlier this week. Mary performed at the event, but that weakened her already troubled voice.
A spokesman for the show said: “”Matt was advised to rest his voice by doctors and so didn’t perform. Mary did sing but complained of a bad throat afterwards. At the moment we’re hoping they will be fit to appear but we just don’t know. It will be a disaster if they have to pull out.”
We understand that Mary is due to perform Never can say goodbye
and The Way We Were/Try To Remember
– both songs with very big vocals required.
