Dannii Minogue to Return to the X Factor

After all the speculation, it wasn’t clear whether Dannii Minogue was going to sign up for another series of the X Factor, but we can now confirm that Dannii has definitely signed her new contract, and the X Factor judges line-up will be the same as last year.

“The chances of Dannii making a return were looking exceptionally bleak as recently as a fortnight ago. Now Simon has given the green light for her return.”, a source told The Sun.

Dannii Minogue to Quit X Factor?

Rumours are again circulating that Dannii Minogue is to quit the X Factor, with her contract apparently still unsigned with just weeks before the judges auditions start.

“It was tough for Dannii last year and she got a lot of negative press. A person can only take so much before asking, ‘Is it really worth it?’.” a source told the Sun.

If Dannii does leave, it could pave the way for a return to the show for Sharon Osbourne, who has admitted she misses working on the X Factor.

Rachel Hylton out of the X Factor

Despite getting good comments from all the judges, Rachel Hylton has become the latest act to leave the X Factor.

She was joined in the bottom two by Louis Walsh’s last remaining act, JLS.

The theme for the night was ‘Take That’, with all contestants joined in rehearsals by Gary and Mark from the band. There had been tears on the show earlier, after Louis Walsh accused Dannii Minogue of ’stealing’ the song choice he had intended for JLS, which left Dannii visibly upset. Simon Cowell came down firmly on the side of Dannii however, saying she was only ‘doing the best for her act’, and that ‘any of us would have done it’.

Leon Jackson Winner of X Factor 2007

After a closely fought contest with over one hundred and fifty thousand auditionees, X Factor 2007 came down to a sing-off between Scotsman Leon and Welshman Rhydian.

Both acts sang their version of the song to be released as the winner’s single “When you Believe”, which is to be released on Wednesday.

Ultimately there could only be one winner, and that winner was Leon!

Rhydian had been favourite to win the competition since Futureproof and Daniel, with Leon referred to as the ‘dark horse’ of the competition, but ultimately with the voting power of Scotland behind him it was former shop-assistant Leon who succeeded.

The battle is now on for Christmas number one – can Leon make it to the top spot in time?
