X Factor Auditionee Compared To Will Young

23 year old shop worker Richard Wilkinson certainly impressed X Factor judge Simon Cowell when he sang his version of “Aint No Sunshine” in his audition. Richard said he had no sense of self worth other than when he was singing and that singing was all he had ever wanted to do.

After hearing his audition, Simon said “You remind me a bit of when we first met Will Young on another show. I thought it was a good audition.”

Sharon wasn’t quite as impressed, saying “Very breathy voice, like a dirty phone call. It’s too breathy for me” and said “no.”. However, with a yes from Simon, Louis and Danni, Richard sailed through.

Richard commented “I’m over the moon, it’s gonna change my life now.”

Dannii Minogue Expresses Preference To Mentor 14 To 24’s

Dannii Minogue has made it quite clear that her favourite X Factor auditionee groups are the 14 o 24’s. Speaking in a recent interview, she said:

“The youngest kids are amazing. They are so talented and fearless. The ones I love most are the ones that are neither cocky nor scared to show their vulnerability. We have also seen some amazing groups. I personally hope we can find the next Spice Girls.”

Dannii also said: “When I was young someone saw potential in me and helped me to become a recording artist. I can see sparks of stardom in some of our auditionees and I can’t wait to give them some really practical advice. Most of our contestants have never performed in a studio in front of a live audience - and that can be very daunting.”

Series Four X Factor May Be The Final Show

With the first X Factor 2007 show pulling in around 11.0 million viewers last week, it would seem like the nation is yet again intrigued to see whether another star can be plucked from the thousands upon thousands of auditionees. It is a tall order to find anyone who can match the talent of last year’s winner, Leona Lewis, and Simon may well be afraid of finding an act who matches up. Simon Cowell has already hinted that if this year’s show fails to find any real talent, then this may well be the last in the series:

Simon said: “If this series ended like Pop Idol 2, forget it. It would be a waste of time to come back. If the contestants are all rubbish at the end, then it’s pointless.”

X Factor Vocal Coach Not Set To Return

According to The Sun, the latest person to get the chop from X Factor is Vocal coach Mark Hudson ( the one with the multi-coloured beard). Apparently, he made Simon Cowell ‘fume’ when he described X Factor winner Leona as having an incredible voice but not “using the face and the eyes to make people melt.”

A spokesperson for the X Factor has said: “Mark will not be returning for the new series.”
