Nicole Scherzinger: Katie Waissel should have gone

Pussy-cat doll and girlfriend of Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton Nicole Scherzinger has slammed Simon Cowell’s decision to keep Katie Waissel in the competition despite her frequent appearances in the bottom two.

“I was shocked at Simon. He is normally so in tune with the public.” Scherzinger was quoted as saying in Reveal magazine.

Nicole is widely tipped to be a judge on the American version of the X Factor, due to start next year.

Here’s what we know so far about what the contestants will be singing:

Rebecca – Yesterday

Matt Cardle: Katie Should Have Gone!

Matt Cardle has come out in support of Aiden Grimshaw, who went home last Sunday after polling the lowest number of votes from the public.

Cardle said that Aiden was “a much better singer” than Katie, but that “In terms of the television show, Aiden was expendable”. In an interview with the Daily Record he said:

“I was shocked when Simon sent him home, but then Katie is better for the show than Aiden is. She gets the coverage, she gets the show attention. He just isn’t like that but he is a much better singer.

“When it went to Katie and Aiden in the bottom two, I didn’t think he would go. Even when it went to deadlock, I thought he would stay. It is like losing a brother.”

Simon Cowell defended his decision to save Katie Waissel on the Xtra Factor, saying that he admired her resilience.
