The X Factor charity single for this year is now out. Entitled Heroes
it will raise money for the Help for Heroes campaign, who assist those injured in battle.
All the X Factor finalists are featured on the track, which was originally released by David Bowie
.
Matt Cardle has come out in support of Aiden Grimshaw, who went home last Sunday after polling the lowest number of votes from the public.
Cardle said that Aiden was “a much better singer” than Katie, but that “In terms of the television show, Aiden was expendable”. In an interview with the Daily Record he said:
“I was shocked when Simon sent him home, but then Katie is better for the show than Aiden is. She gets the coverage, she gets the show attention. He just isn’t like that but he is a much better singer.
“When it went to Katie and Aiden in the bottom two, I didn’t think he would go. Even when it went to deadlock, I thought he would stay. It is like losing a brother.”
Simon Cowell defended his decision to save Katie Waissel on the Xtra Factor, saying that he admired her resilience.
Aiden Grimshaw left the X Factor after yet another near miss for Katie Waissel. Simon Cowell voted to keep Katie, but with Louis voting for Aiden it went to deadlock, and the public vote. Aiden polled the lowest number of votes, and so went home.
Katie sang Save Me From Myself
, giving a great performance without any hissy-fits or sitting down mid-way through the song.
Aiden sang Don’t Dream It’s Over
. His exit means that Dannii has just two acts left, Matt and Paije. He was subdued after his exit, saying “you win some, you lose some”.
