John and Edward leave the X Factor

The marmite twins that everybody seems to love or hate have finally left the X Factor, after a bottom two sing-off against Olly Murs.

Singing Boyzone’s No Matter What, the boys were voted off by Simon, Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole, avoiding the deadlock situation that had saved them previously.

Song Choices for Queen Week

We have to admit to being slightly confused when we were told that X Factor’s theme this week would be royalty, but it turns out they were of course referring to rock royalty in the form of Queen.

Here’s what the remaining acts will be singing this week:

Jamie Archer – Seven Seas Of Rhye
John and Edward – Radio Ga Ga or Under Pressure
Danyl Johnson – We Are The Champions
Olly Murs – Don’t Stop Me Now
Lloyd Daniels – Crazy Little Thing Called Love
Joe McElderry – Somebody To Love
Stacey Solomon – I Want To Break Free

John and Edward are as yet undecided whether to do Radio Ga Ga or Under Pressure, and have apparently been rehearsing both.

Lucie Jones out after John and Edward saved by Simon Cowell

A massively controversial result this week, as the bottom two consisted of Lucie Jones and John and Edward.

Louie was extremely complimentary about Lucie, explaining that he thought she didn’t deserve to be in the bottom two, but that he had to protect his own act. Dannii Minogue unsurprisingly voted to save Lucie, and Cheryl Cole, who had previously spoken out about John and Edward, voted to send the Irish twins home. That left the deciding vote to Simon Cowell, who after slating the celtic pairing all series then proceeded to vote send Lucie home, creating a dead-lock and leaving the decision to the public vote.

As Lucie has polled the lowest number of votes, it was she who left the competition, leaving JEdward to perform again next week.
