It’s the final weekend of the X Factor 2009, and today one act had to leave – that act was Stacey Solomon.
Stacey, or ‘Dagenham Stace’, as she was generally known, was gracious in defeat, saying that she was proud to come third in the competition.
Stacey had earlier performed with crooner Michael Buble.
Olly Murs and Joe McElderry are through to the final proper tomorrow night.

This weekends X Factor is to be split over two days, with all three acts singing on Saturday, and the final two in a sing-off on Sunday.
On Saturday, the acts will be joined by the now traditional celebrity pairings, and here’s who you can expect to see:
Stacey Solomon + Michael Bublé
Oly Murs + Robbie Williams
Joe McElderry + George Michael

This week saw the semi-final of X Factor 2009, and the exit of Danyl Johnson after he polled the lowest number of votes from the public
“I may have gone out in the semi-final, but I’ve gone out to some of the best people I’ve ever met” was Danyl’s gracious response when told of the result. Simon Cowell was impressed with Danyl, saying he had “gone out on a high”.
Danyl’s exit means that Olly Murs, Stacey Solomon and Joe McElderry are in next week’s final.

16 year old Welshman Lloyd Daniels failed to make it to the semi-finals after leaving the X Factor based only on the public vote.
Lloyd said “I just want to be recognised”, and Cheryl commented “Your only 16 – you’ve got loads of time!”
