Laura White set for Top 20 with new Single?

It seems that Laura White, the subject of many furious comments when she left X Factor last year, is set to enter the top 20 with her debut single, You Should Have Known. The midweek charts show Laura at number 17, a respectable placing, especially given that Laura is signed to a smaller independent label.

Danyl Johnson early favourite to win

Only one show into X Factor 2009 and the clear favourite so far seems to be Danyl Johnson. Diana Vickers has already confessed herself a fan, tweeting “Eeeeeeeek. Teacher man was awesome… that’s about it!”.

And it seems US TV bosses were so wowed by his audition on Saturday’s show that he’s been booked to appear on The Today show in America this week.

‘The Today Show contacted him because they saw his audition and think he’s a real star. They want him on this week – and he thinks it’s an amazing opportunity.’

Alexandra Burke a Funeral Favourite

I’ve no idea whether Alexandra would be happy with this, but it seems that her Christmas number one ‘Hallelujah’ was the 25th most popular song to be played at funerals.

If nothing else, at least it keeps her in peoples minds.

Alexandra Burke is Xmas Number One!

Fighting off stiff competition from the Jeff Buckley version of the same song, Alexandra Burke has won the Xmas number one with her debut single, Hallelujah.

Alexandra was so shocked she was unable to speak when she won the X Factor last week, so we can only wonder how gaining the top spot for Xmas will have left her feeling!
