Louis Walsh in Tears as Ruth Lorenzo Out

The X Factor journey finally came to an end for Ruth Lorenzo last night, after she polled the lowest number of public votes.
The theme for the night was Britney Spears, which almost certainly contributed to Eoghan polling the second lowest number of votes. Earlier Simon Cowell had commented how none of Britney’s songs suited Eoghan’s voice, and correctly predicted it would be a tough week for him.

Rachel Hylton out of the X Factor

Despite getting good comments from all the judges, Rachel Hylton has become the latest act to leave the X Factor.

She was joined in the bottom two by Louis Walsh’s last remaining act, JLS.

The theme for the night was ‘Take That’, with all contestants joined in rehearsals by Gary and Mark from the band. There had been tears on the show earlier, after Louis Walsh accused Dannii Minogue of ’stealing’ the song choice he had intended for JLS, which left Dannii visibly upset. Simon Cowell came down firmly on the side of Dannii however, saying she was only ‘doing the best for her act’, and that ‘any of us would have done it’.
