Wagner leaves the X Factor

After the exit of Katie Waissel, Mary Byrne and Wagner were in the sing-off to stay in the competition. This gave Louis Walsh the unenviable choice between his two acts – and he chose to keep Mary in the competition. This was followed by Dannii, who also chose to vote against Wagner, and Cheryl who also voted against him. As such, Wagner went home.

Wagner was on first, singing Unforgettable. This was followed by Mary singing This Is My Life.

Simon Cowell claimed that people were trying to ‘de-rail the show’ by voting for Wagner, and that the decision to send him home put the show back on track.

  3. Love Wagner! But it was between him and Mary and I think she is a better artiste.

    Wagner seems so sweet though.

  4. There’s only two acts that can win the competition, Matt or Rebecca. They are in a completely different league than the other acts!

  5. Very Very Happy About those results! If someone could survive this far in the competition by speaking off-key out of time for two minutes with so many feathers on stage, I can do anything! But it was time that the competition actually got serious.

  7. Xfactor is really losing its appeal for a number of reasons.

Theres no set rules for the judges vote. Totally unfair making Louis give his vote first last night. He is generally the last in line for the vote but it was such a set up last night. Would Simon let that happen to his pet Miss Cole/Tweedy who blatantly would not vote on her two contestants in previous show. And why Dermot did not go to her after the others had voted that night was scandalous. Disgraceful.

Dannii increasingly annoying this year particularly with her snappy snappy gesture.

And this bias towards the group one direction is so staged. We all know Simon will fix it as best as possible that they win. The comments the other night were that they proved they could all sing. Look at the performance and only 3 of the 5 sang. Yes they are favourites as they get the teenage girl vote but seriously the likes of Matt and Mary are far more deserving of winning such a competition. Take off the blinkers judges and for once show give some honest views instead of this whole propaganda to ensure the boy band win. They are not bad singers but not above average. Cop on.

The Judges are sickening because they will not give an honest opinion. If its their act they always say they were brilliant. Louis is actually the most honest of the whole bunch of them.

  8. Simon blames the public for trying to ‘de-rail the show’ now that we are down to the semi finals next week, suddenly the thought of Wagner actually getting further in the contest is an issue and his entertainment value is no longer required for the integrity of the show. Word of advice to Simon DON’T PUT ACTS LIKE WAGNER THROUGH TO THE LIVE SHOWS THEN, and don’t blame the public who have every right to vote for the act they want to win. Thankfully for you even the public know when a joke has gone too far if we are talking about a talent show here. Goodbye Wagner and good luck to you.

  9. Thank god the blokes gone.
He was an embarrassment to those of us in that age bracket.
He couldnt sing in tune and was a parody of a cabaret singer.
Whatever he may have looked like younger ( and I wasnt bad either back then either lol) there comes a time when you have to admit that your making a prat of yourself….but in front of millions?
BUT like has been said, he should never have been put through, ever.
Louis is like a spiteful child taking pot shots at simon and frankly hes been taking the piss all along with Wagner, not even bothering to say his name right. So hes as bad.
I agree with simons comment that many voted for W to derail the show, yet he was painful to watch.
I stopped watching the prog because of him and the spats tween simon and louis.
And though Mary has a great voice and will surely have a singing career in clubs, she too isnt a ‘pop star’. Shed have been near the top in Britains got Talent but she isnt right as a pop star, which is what I understood X-F to be?
I SO admire her pluck and her voice is strong and I wish her every success in her life from now on but if she and Wagner had anything about them, theyd have both backed out and allowed the kids through, they are young enough to be pop stars.
Matt and Rebecca now are the only ones with character, distinctive voices and their heads on the right way!
The boy band are going to be big in a year or two Im sure, but they are not that special and have alot to live up to, with those that have gone before them in showbiz.

  10. Finally! He made a complete idiot if himself. If he had any common sense he would have never even auditioned. Sure, he made us laugh but not with him, at him. To get to where he did in the competition many acts better than him were knocked out. One Direction, Matt or Rebecca will win the X Factor 2010!
