Paije Richardson has had to pull out of rehearsals for this Saturday’s X Factor after his grandmother died last night.
Paije was said to be ‘devastated’, and told producers ‘I’ve got to go, I’m really sorry’. A show source told the Sun: “Paije was devastated but he’s such a lovely lad he kept saying he was sorry and that he had to go. We just said, ‘Of course you have to go’, and made arrangements for him to be with his relatives..
Paije made it through to the competition on a wildcard, after failing to be chosen at the judge’s houses stage of the competition. Since then, he’s been popular with the judges, with Simon Cowell commenting that he gave the best performance on the first live show.

Cheryl Cole will be performing her new single Promise This
on Sunday’s results show.
Cheryl is apparently to sing live, , unlike her controversial performance last year. The single will be released the following day. A source told the Sun:
“Cheryl will be dancing and singing at the same time. She’s really excited about it and has been practising non-stop.”
We know many of you were concerned over stories there might be no X Factor next year – you can all breathe a sigh of relief, because it’s been confirmed there will be!
X Factor will be returning in 2011 in its usual autumn to Christmas slot, despite plans to launch X Factor USA. It is thought that Simon may remain as a judge, although it has not been announced exactly how he will juggle this with his work on the American version of the show.
Confirming X Factor until the end of 2013, ITV boss Peter Fincham said “I’m delighted that our viewers can continue to enjoy them on ITV over the next three years”.
