Song Choices for Rock Week

Bon Jovi are this weeks guest act, and that make this week rock week! Here are what everyone will be singing. You can hear a preview of the original song below.

Danyl Johnson – I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing
Olly Murs – Come Together
Jamie Afro – Get Your Rocks Off
John and Edward – We Will Rock You
Stacey Solomon – Somewhere Only We Know
Lucie Jones – Sweet Child O’ Mine
Rachel Adedeji – One
Joe McElderry – Don’t Stop Believin’
Lloyd Daniels – I Kissed A Girl

  1. Some odd songs that I would not class as Rock – since when were Madonna, George Michael and Katy Perry classed as rock music?

Unless they have rearranged the tunes I think this might be a decidely unrock night!!

  2. Go to FREE2CALL.TV to vote for FREE all you need to do is listen to a fifteen second RSPCA ad and that’s it.. Just don’t use your free vote to vote for Jedward (pardon me whilst I puke)

  3. We will rock you is a good choice for the twins, as its not really a singing song, they’ll do well and stay in another week. Careless whisper for Danyl? The jury is out!

  4. most of those sounds ok… but lloyd singing a katy perry song???

  5. watching john and edward is like watching a train crash unfold, you already know it’s a mess but you can’t look away as it carry’s on going down to the end. but i would like to see what simon could do for them instead of against them.

  6. Don’t destroy the music and talent factor in this show by voting for Lloyd, and/or John and Edward who are children with a weak voices, incapable of converting the opportunities this show could provide.

Vote instead for the powerful voice of RACHEL ADEDEJI, good enough to make a lasting IMPACT in the world of MUSIC !

    Comment by Dan — Saturday, 31 October, 2009 @ 22:22

  7. I think Simon’s choice of songs were really disappointing this week. Overall this week the program was weak and it is not the Rock’s theme choice’s fault. Come on guys. Better effort in more exciting choices for songs.

  8. considering it was rock night i felt that jamie was v poor. rock stars own the stage and jamie barely moved, he had is feet planted the whole song untill the one point where the cohregrapher (spelling mistake i know) told him to move into the crowd- i really like him but felt he made a poor effort at a real rocker tonight. Danyl is totally unconvincing- i feel he has no genuine passion or authenticity, the same goes for Lucie- both would make great west end stars as they have the voice and the acting but not the genuine love of music. Stacey was great- a truely un manufactured and genuine voice. Rachel should have stuch with her old image- i loved her rocky rhianna hair, now she looks like a typical girl- great voice tho. and my god jedward cant sing but at least you’d think they could shout in sync bit even as twins they cant even keep in time with each other !

  9. Pretty poor show tonight – none of these artists would know what rock was if it hit them in the face. Lloyd was dire and the twins – well we’ve said it before – but not doubt the muppets will still vote for them.

Yet again we’re going to have acts in the bottom 2 that don’t deserve to be there because the eejit young lassies keep voting for the pretty boys. If there were a bet available I’d put it on this being the last ever series of the X factor – not unless they change the voting.

  10. Danyl has probably been my favorite throughout this whole competition. However, it’s been pointed out by some that being in the bottom two from last week may have done some damage to his confidence. Wow, that was totally evident in his rock performance last night as the beginning and end of the song were very weak, and the middle of the song was a little better but not by much. Then when he stood before the judges, there wasn’t even a hint of a smile on his face. Hate to say it, but I think his confidence is totally shot, and he may be gone very quickly here.

  11. I hope the judges are happy that they have totally knocked Danyl’s confidence. He just wasn’t the same last night, he definately lost his sparkle. The judges are really hypocritical, they were the ones saying he was unlikeable and cocky and then why he tries to address that then he has no confidence. They created what they saw last night, I hope they’re proud. And how come the judges didn’t accuse Olly of being cocky with his cheap shirt move, if Danyl had done that, he’d have been called cocky for sure. I hope Danyl can rise above this and go back to who he is, I agree with Simon, he has by far the best voice in the competition and I hope people give him a chance tonight.

  13. Shocking show, what is wrong with the british x factor voting public, clearly only idiots voting! Rachel was probably the most talented individual in this years competition! Shame on you Simon, you let a total money spinner go and I cannot believe you actually let it happen. Duhhhhhh!

    Comment by Sho — Sunday, 1 November, 2009 @ 21:01

  14. John and Edward still in!!! Why are people voting for them they are rubbish, they can’t sing or dance. Rachel should not have gone out tonight. Next week surely the twins MUST go…..!

    Comment by Tania — Sunday, 1 November, 2009 @ 21:03

  15. I feel very bad about Simon’s decision of leaving back to public vote. Rachal is one of the best and she is no more. I don’t know why I watch this show anymore. Does not look like a talent show when talented r hopeless in the show.

    Comment by Indikaf — Sunday, 1 November, 2009 @ 21:11

  16. Very disappointing from Simon to take it to dead lock especially that he admitted before that Lloyd is on the show because of his looks and not because of his voice! The whole thing is fake fake fake! Rachel swept Lloyd off the stage…should have been an obvious decision!

  17. i am so mad with Simon for not saving Rachel tonite!!! i mean hello like – she is one of the best singers in the contest… only reason he didnt was cause he wanted to save that other guy (zero talent) dont even know his name and dont want to is cause he fancies the pants off Cheryl i rest my case….

  18. Tonight (Sunday) Simon has demonstrated once again just how contradictory his comments can be. He has said on each of the last 2 weeks that it’s all about being able to sing as to why John and Edward should be booted out – so how could he not keep in Rachel this week? Her voice is far, far superior to Lloyd’s and he knows it. Regardless of having a croaky voice tonight, Lloyd’s ‘Fly Me to the Moon’ last week and ‘I kissed a girl’ this week were woefully bad, whilst Rachel’s vocal talents came through in spades. Good looks are obviously more important than the ability to be the better singer. I’m convinced Simon went with his business head rather than his heart and for this I feel sorry for Rachel – he has severely let her down. I hope John and Edward win – maybe it will teach him a lesson. As for the public are concerned, I’m really not sure if that many people out there can recognise a good singer above a good looker.

  20. Absolute disgrace on Saturday. Any other week the judges go by the dead lock performances, this week Cowell decides it’s not fair because the boy can’t sing. Well he couldn’t sing any of the previous weeks either and Rachel most deffo can. Even all the ‘legewnds’ liked her so how can they decide that she wasn’t good enough. It was a joke and I’m really disappointed.

  21. Has the programme had its day? Its fast becoming a nonense show, I shall switch to come dancing.

  22. I agree with Martin totally; this HAS to be the last X Factor, especially if the brat twins win! This really is proving to be a total fix – how the hell could Rachel be in the bottom 2 three weeks running and did you notice how Dermot left it till last on Sunday 1st Nov to announce the weirdos were going through! If they have the most votes, the voting system is clearly wrong; I don’t know anyone who wants them to win, unless of course they are 6 years of age or under and WHEN those brats are in the bottom two and have to “sing” (term used tongue in cheek!!) without backing dancers, music, etc, then see them stay in! And if they do win, imagine Simon giving them a recording contract – yeah right!!!

Louis Walsh is so deluded it’s surreal. Well, he would be, those two are all he has left in this “competition”. Says it all!

Stop voting for these talentless idiots – it is costing people with real talent the chance to go any further. I’m so sorry Rachel has to go; I would like Stacey or Lucie to win – hey, they can sing – thought that was the whole point! Entertaining, those two brats? Perhaps those of you who think they are first of all drank 40 pints of Guinness! They couldn’t entertain in an empty room – get rid and fast, otherwise the viewing figures will diminish to nothing, believe me!

  24. i think that this show is a joke this year!

    Comment by jordan ridsdel — Sunday, 8 November, 2009 @ 21:04

  25. oh and by the way me and my family will not be watching it again. After tonight it just shows how much of a fix it is, Tonight before they both sang in the faceoff. Simon said we will forget the past, and decide on tonight performance. But he back tracked and let it go to deadlock. This proves Simon is behind all the hype for John and Edward. And he had his chance tonight to get them off, and he didn’t so i dont believe all what he has said in the past about john and edward. As the longer they are on the show, generates more publicity for them which inturn fills simons pockets. Him being head of Syco, god help all the brilliant singers on this show, How sad.
