Boot Camp Too Tough?

Normally when you hear complaints about X Factor boot camp it’s those who didn’t make it complaining that they should. This year is different though, with those who attended complaining conditions were “a nightmare”.

The hopefuls complained that during the six-day boot camp they worked from 6am until 10pm, with just £10 for food. At lunch they were taken to a church hall, to be fed ’soup-kitchen’ style. One 18-year old, who left despite being asked back after the first day said:

“They made us sit in the holding room for hours, sometimes eight, while they filmed. You weren’t allowed to rehearse, there was no TV, you couldn’t talk. They even took your jewellery if it was too noisy.”

Were you at the X Factor bootcamp? Would you have loved to be there, even with the harsh conditions? Leave your comments below!

  1. I was at the first half of bootcamp… It was ok… The whole thing seemed unorganised as we had to wait an extra 2 hours… As we were meant to go in at 1 and we got in at 3… and even then we started late!

As for the acts… they were good… but none of them really stood out for me! Many of them said they were ill when they were performing… maybe thats due to the bad conditions?

  2. Well, i was also a contestant who got thru to bootcamp, and to be perfectly honest, it wasnt what i was expecting…..It was very unorganised, nothing like how you see it on telly. Long hours, not much sleep or food…..it was very hard work, and alot of the people sent home were extremely talented….From looking at the people that did get thru, it is not obvious to me what the judges were looking for, however I will still probably enter again next yr, now i know what to expect!

  3. I am sick of the contestants complaining about the conditions at the bootcamp. I went for x factor in april of this year and was told for the third time that it was no and i have a good enougth voice to get on x factor. I am a 35 year old who has a youthfull sound like someone in their 20s and can sing with fallsetto and vibrato and have the ability to win on x factor but does not get the chance to show the nation what a talent i am. I just hate it when this years contestants complain they want to be thankfull that they have got on the show and where theres good singers that cant get on the show after 3 years of trying. p.s just shut up and get on with the task in hand i would of jump at the chance to get to bootcamp

  5. i think that i pick the wrong songs for the first auditions on x factor being the producers which prevents me getting through. Can anybody give me some suggestions or tips of songs that would help a 35 year old with a youthfull voice get to bootcamp next year.

  7. the 3 years that i have being auditioning. I have sung in 2007 i did ‘Easy’ by the Commordores, in 2008 i did ‘Where Ever I Lay My Hat’ by Paul Young and this year i sung ‘Million Love Songs by Take That the producers were nodding they heads forward so the vocals must of being alright but i do lack stage presence or movement it could be one of the factors that let me down and also image i wore a black suit.

  8. I watched the x factor on saturday and there was some exelent singers like the young lass with the baby and the gordie kid also the teacher. he is the best so far but that is some positives that have come out of this weeks x factor the negatives are the people that come on and think they have got it but havent it annoys me that the producers send these through to simon and louis; like the two twin brothers that got through doing As Long As You Love Me by backstreet boys i can sing better than them and i sing backstreet boys songs in karaokes and could of done that 10 times better just the way backstreet boys do it and yet can,t get on the show.
