Only one show into X Factor 2009 and the clear favourite so far seems to be Danyl Johnson. Diana Vickers has already confessed herself a fan, tweeting “Eeeeeeeek. Teacher man was awesome… that’s about it!”.
And it seems US TV bosses were so wowed by his audition on Saturday’s show that he’s been booked to appear on The Today show in America this week.
‘The Today Show contacted him because they saw his audition and think he’s a real star. They want him on this week – and he thinks it’s an amazing opportunity.’
As well as the usual singing competition, this year’s X Factor got a whole lot more interesting with the added style war between Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole. The battle has been running all through auditions and bootcamp, but you can expect things to reach fever-pitch when we get to the live rounds!
We’ve teamed up with fashion site boohoo.com to let you get the latest styles as worn by the judges and contestants.
So to kick things off, we proudly present:

It has been revealed that former Take That singer Robbie Williams is to appear on the X Factor as a mentor.
In the later stages of the competition Robbie is to give ‘masterclasses’ to the contestants, as well as performing on the show in a bid to revive his own solo career.
Past X Factor series have seen the likes of Elton John and Barry Manilow, and we can expect an all Robbie Williams themed night, which is bound to be tough for the girls!
A massive X Factor Blog exclusive here, as we are proud to be the first to reveal the judges categories for 2009. The judges only learnt who they would be mentoring throughout the series yesterday evening, and we are pleased to reveal to you that the categories for 2009 are:
Dannii Minogue – Girls (16-24)
Louis Walsh – Groups
Simon Cowell – 25s and Over
Cheryl Cole – Boys (16-24)
This information hasn’t been published anywhere else yet, but we have learnt it from a very reliable source and couldn’t wait to bring this hot news to you! Remember where you heard it first!
