A we told you on Friday, X Factor 2009 is to have Britain’s Got Talent style live auditions.

Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how people did first time around), this means the Glasgow auditions, for which filming has already been completed, are having to be re-run.

A spokeswoman for the show said:

“We are still fine tuning our plans, but we aim to be back up in Scotland at the end of the month.

“We are working out how we are going to do it, but it does look like everyone who auditioned will come and audition again.”

X Factor 2009 is set to have live auditions, mirroring the format of Britain’s Got Talent.

London – Monday 22nd to Thursday 25th June
Birmingham – Monday 29th to Tuesday 30th June
Manchester – Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th July
Cardiff – Thursday 9th July
Glasgow – Sunday 12th July

We can reveal that X Factor fans are set to receive a double helping of X Factor each weekend once the show reaches the live finals stage.

The Saturday night show will of course remain, but there will be an extra Sunday night ‘results’ show, with a similar format to the BBC’s Strictly Come dancing, where the bottom acts will have a further chance to sing for their survival in the competition.

The move is reported to be worth £25 000 extra each weekend to judges, Dannii Minogue, Cheryl Cole, Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell.
