Louis Walsh in Tears as Ruth Lorenzo Out

The X Factor journey finally came to an end for Ruth Lorenzo last night, after she polled the lowest number of public votes.
The theme for the night was Britney Spears, which almost certainly contributed to Eoghan polling the second lowest number of votes. Earlier Simon Cowell had commented how none of Britney’s songs suited Eoghan’s voice, and correctly predicted it would be a tough week for him.

  1. Poor louis in tears over Ruth, whats he gonna be like when JLS go? the group he’s trying to turn into his precious West Life (Poor Kids). It’s about time he was gone, he has no positive comments to make, he just copies and adds to other judges comments. After all he did reject Alexandra, who has now turned out to be one of the hot favourites to win along with Diana. Louis I’m afriad your out of the loop, retire gracefully.

  2. I can’t not believe Ruth was voted off last night!
That voice, spirit and grace will be much missed!!!
She is going to be fantactic, as she said, this is only the beggining!!
As a fellow Spaniard, I want to wish her all the best!!
Alexandra to win, no doubt about that now! And if it doesn’t happen…well…what a joke then!
I just wish that people realise, about a couple of things, Eoghan is not that much….he is just a nice kid, but c’mon….good looks? good voice?, the text messages he was getting praising him last night, were from 5 and 7 years old!!! It is a bit creepy seeing him singing love songs since he is only 15!! He is ok for a ‘High school musical’ career, but nothing else yet! Maybe when he grows up! Same with Diana, she is cute…but boring now!

  5. Either this show is rigged (which wouldn’t surprise me) or the British public are a bunch of complete tosspots. Ruth is, I guess I should say was, the best singer on the show. She fit well with all her costume changes and had a fantastic voice to match.

Eoghan is the worst. It doesn’t surprise me that he’s stuck in this long and has Simon as his judge…

  6. The whole X factor has decended into a farse, just like Eurovision…..Who, with any note in their head would vote to keep Dianna & Eoin over Ruth ??????

Both of THEM should have got their marching orders last night !!!! They were useless, and they both know it !!!!!

  7. Why the hell was Ruth picked to go? She was absoloutely brilliant. It should of been Eoghan! I think in the finals it should of been Diana, Alexandra and Ruth.

I swear if Eoghan or JLS wins the X Factor, I will never watch it again.

For now, it is either Diana or Alexandra to win… go girls!

    Britney rocked! Welcome back!

  8. Terrible, but the public have voted.

Ruth was the best along with Alex but the choice of a heavy rock number, by her mentor, as her second song was wrong and I think led to her down fall.

In comparison either JLS or Diane should have gone as they did not have the X Factor tonight. JLS were weak and like any other of many harmonising group, Diane, a lovely girl but what on earth is she singing and to who? I don’t understand a word of her singing.

Ruth will get a recording contract and I for one look forward to her first album. Alexandra is the only one left now who should win and I hope she does.

  9. The judges talk and talk .. (who has the greatest voice etc.) but, in the end they are only humanbeings.

They can NOT, in the end, figure out anything more than you and I.
So sad that Ruth Lorenzo (by far the best voice/singer of this years contestants) had to leave under the pretention that it is / should be a qualified, fair and competent choice/choosing - it is NOT.

I’m so sorry Ruth Lorenzo but also sure that you’ll find another way through - and the hole World are eager to buy the records of yours.

I love you Ruth, and will miss you badly in the X-factor.
    Good luck to you.

  10. Well I am so sad that Ruth is off, I voted for her from the start, and thought she was the best singer of all. I am inclined to think that Simon Cowell’s remark about it being a British competition is to blame, and I wonder if he said it on purpose knowing that his Eughon would be voted off if Ruth wasnt. Eughon is so average and so weak, and Diana screetches like a cat, She was terrible last night. Well I dont care whether J.L.S or Alexandra win, as long as neither of the other two do,I just dont know how they have come this far. Ruth was special and will surely have a career in front of her. It is arguable whether a Spanish person should have won a British competition, but I thought she was so good that it didnt matter.

  12. real shame that ruth went. it was a difficult one though. the only act that stood out for being poor on saturday was diana. however she has a lot of fans.
it was more like a popularity vote rather than a talent vote on saturday. oh wel, ruth did pretty well to say she isnt from a particular area of the country, because that automatically involves “free” votes as such (meaning that the contestant automatically gets a few votes, not because of their voice but because they are from the same area as the votee)

    Comment by lindsay — Monday, 1 December, 2008 @ 11:39

  13. Ruth should never have been voted out on saturday. She has all the talent it takes to be a star and hopefully
simon or louie will sign her up for a record deal.

  14. Guys Guys, get it straight.Ruth left the competition bcos arcording to their records her Votes were low on the nite.
We all know thats she’s a great singer by a mile. Like said before,it’ll have been nice if she was a bit low keyed about voicing how surprised she was that the British public were actually keeping her in.Plus Cheryl dint need to stress about her foreigness last week like we dint already know she was from spain, and as if it was strange for her to perform so well and come far in the competition.

For Diana (not realy my favourite), I think some ppl actually like her singin and feel she should remain in the competition and are voting in their millions for her 2 stay.
I agree that Owen is quite average but his own fans will still back him up.He’s not intresting at all.
I just dont think there’s any fix in the voting thing and that someone is delibrately being voted out.

The competition is just gettin very tight week by week.

  15. Felt really bad for Ruth on Saturday - she didn’t deserve to go, I thought it would be her and Alexandra in the finals. Alexandra was better than Britney!! As far as JLS - Louis is making them into another Westlife…pleeeeese, they need to go, and Diana screeching and walking weird with the hand thing, too much like Chubaka….also needs to go, and Eoghan, he’s just not the best (so Ireland instead of voting for your nation how about you vote for the best!) I believe Alexandra should win, she is phenomenal, and has proved she has the right charachter after not making it a few years ago, she still went after her dream, please help me in making that a reality for her - VOTE ALEXANDRA!

  16. Following the incredible success of the ITV 1 Talent show, The X Factor, which is watched in over 12million homes every week. Kevin Peet Presents THE POP FACTORY LIVE, staring finalists from the show, this year and from previous years. On Sunday 28th December 2008, we can confirm Ruth Lorenzo will be bringing her massive voice and Iberian charm to perform Live at the Pacific Road Arts Centre, in Birkenhead. This is just the beginning, as the show will also include a semi finalist from this years contest, yet to be announced. Also performing live on the show will be Shaun Rogerson, who appeared on the X Factor in 2006. He endeared millions of Mums, Grans, and girls alike with his constant battle with his nerves and his struggle to impress Simon Cowell at home in Miami.

The Pantomime of TV is brought Live to Birkenhead as a fun, action packed evening of live entertainment and a great alternative to the traditional festive pantomime. The show will take place at Birkenhead’s greatest concert venue, Pacific Road Arts Centre. Tickets are available at the box office in person or by phone on 0151 666 0000 or online at http://www.pacificroad.co.uk. Tickets are priced at £15 Adults and £13 Children under 16 years.

X Factor hopeful Ruth Lorenzo became the eighth contestant to be voted off the show. The buxom Spanish singer bowed out gracefully after receiving the least number of public votes. She said: “I fought with all my heart, with everything I had. And this doesn’t end here. This is the beginning of my dream. All I can say is thank you so much. I never ever dreamed of this ever.”

With judge Simon Cowell looking on wistfully, she then belted out another performance of Bon Jovi’s Always. Earlier Cowell praised the 26-year-old for her determination and effort. Looking emotional, Dannii Minogue, who has mentored the contestant, said she had “an incredible vocal. She was the most beautiful person to work with. She’s going to be a friend forever.”

  17. Ruth - thank you for brightening my Saturday evenings over the last few months. It’s been great seeing you get better each and every week. You’re simply the best! Knocking on Heaven’s Door was out of this world

A great injustice happened last week when you were voted off. I thought it was supposed to be a talent show based on singing ability but what do I know! The show will not be the same next week without your radiant personality and powerful yet superb voice

In my view, you handed the disappointment of being voted off like a true winner! You will make it to the top because you have the X Factor! Prove those doubters wrong Ruth - I know you will!!!!

  18. Ruth, i wish you all the best of luck in the future.

Me and my family are all a bit disapointed now when we watch the X-Factor because you are not there any more. You were that little something different in a good way.

I hope you release a great Rock Album. If you do I will most certainly buy it. Keep on Rockin’ and don’t ever stop.
