X Factor Finalists Revealed

It was X Factor 2007 semi-final week, and after excellent performances by all contestants, one more act had to leave - and that act was 80s nearly-star and school dinner lady Niki.

That means that the acts through to the final of X Factor 2007 are Same Difference, Leon and Rhydian.

  4. What a rubbish show niki was much better than same difference and leon. no wonder the girl from same difference got bullied she is so annoying niki should of been in final with rhydian and becerley why does britain not accept real talent!

  7. What a fix! Leon ~CRAP~, if I was a record producer I would sign Nicky up tomorrow

  8. Another dissapointing year for xfactor viewers. Again it shows that age will cause you to not make it through to the end. Nikki was notable the best vocally but not marketable in the producers eyes. I am tired of being let down every year and have decided that the x factor will not be a factor in my life any longer. I really have better things to do with my time, than watch a incestus bother and sister act that when asked others, we all feel is a bit uncomfortable to watch. I will not be inversting my time next year. I think I would rather take up self flagelation.

  9. i think it,s shocking that niki went out tonight because i think same difference is just a party act

    Comment by stephen wilkinson — Saturday, 8 December, 2007 @ 22:06

  10. rhydian again has proved that he’s strikingly great performer with his passionate love while singing. buble said,’ i have never seen anyone sing with so much emotion as him(rhydian).’

niki did her best, and i guessed she deserved to be in final.

leon fill in an empty hole for final three while same difference just get lucky to get kids votes more than dinner lady, niki.

  11. Just goes to show that britain doesnt have any talent when attempting spotting talent.

Niki was without doubt the most talented vocalist out of the four and her leaving really has left a sour taste about the show. She could hit all the notes with ease which is more than i can say for the rabble which is Same Difference and the “I have only one tone of voice” Rydian. He sounds so much like Rick Astley and we all know what happened to him, yes, nothing!!

I tonight must have been watching another show as if people could vote more for Same Difference or Rydian above Niki is totally beyond me.

Good luck Niki as quite frankly i think you were robbed.

    Comment by Jason — Saturday, 8 December, 2007 @ 22:08

  12. I thought it a disgrace that Same Difference got through and Niki out. To me they couldnt sing there way through a wet paper bag, and good on Luise for saying it every week. To me, Niki has a very similar voice to one of the greatest female singers of all time, Dusty Springfield and I will put her in the same catogory as her, all she needed was a chance, so lets hope that one of the great agents will take her under there wing and prove the public and Simon wrong. As far as the rest of the show I dont think I will watch it as I think if Same Diff can win over Niki then theres somthing seriously wrong
GOOD LUCK NIKI for the future, I wish you all the best.

  14. same difference are a joke GET OF THE STAGE

    LEON I LOVE UUUUU

  15. What are Same Different doing in a show lika X Factor!!!! They are Circus, fun for kids, nothing more than that! It should have been Rhydian, Beverly and Niki in the Final! Same Different is a bad joke.

    Comment by Lena — Saturday, 8 December, 2007 @ 22:25

  16. Rhydian was outstanding.Leon also has an excellent future.Niki performed her second song particularly well . It is a shame that she has been voted out. I cannot believe that’Same Difference’ are still in. They are pleasant.. but not in the same league as the others. I have heard many other performers with similar vocal quality and sustained energy in performance… but would you LISTEN to them without actually watching them. After all, this is to secure a recording contract !

    Comment by Jacque Emery — Saturday, 8 December, 2007 @ 22:25

  17. WOOOOOOOOO!!!! bring on the final!!! Rhydian is wkd but not pop star material in my eyes, bound to win though. Same difference rock big time, love them loads. want them 2 win. n leon is alrite not gona win but is super sexy so not complainin.

    Comment by Hannah — Saturday, 8 December, 2007 @ 22:27

  18. Its a fix!

I am gutted Nicki has left. I tried the whole time to vote for her & the phoneline was constantly engaged!!!!!!!!!

    Comment by Paul Weller — Saturday, 8 December, 2007 @ 22:28

  19. There must be a lot of 3 year olds voting for Same Difference to beat Nikki who obviously is much more talented - I cringe every time I hear and see them. Leon has about as much charisma as wet cardboard. Rhydian to win - he’s far and away the most talented and deserves it - you go boy!

    Comment by Ian Painting — Saturday, 8 December, 2007 @ 22:43

  20. No way Niki should have gone. Leon was boring and awful. There is only one winner now. Go Rhyd…

    Comment by coyotechick — Saturday, 8 December, 2007 @ 23:01

  21. Rhydian, brilliant as usual. Same Difference - disliked them to start with, but they have won me over with their sheer energy. It’s damn difficult singing and dancing at the same time, and it’s always entertaining. Just wish we didn’t have to have the sob story again this week. Leon/Nikki. I thought Nikki would go. For the first time this week I was bored with her. Leon is great at what he does, but he is very one note. Reckon it will be Rhydian to win, with Same Difference second and Leon third. You need personality and energy to get to the top, and Leon, althought sweet, just doesn’t have it.

    Comment by Lizzie — Saturday, 8 December, 2007 @ 23:04

  22. I really really really hope that Niki’s got a record deal. She so more that deserves it, she’s got a fabulous voice. She’s the whole paackage. Looks, personality, really pretty, lovely figure, and such a lovely person. X Factor’s such a farce. Something must be going on with the voting. I can’t believe people are voting more than once, how ridiculous. No wonder Same Difference got through. Not everyone got to vote for Niki, there was a high demand for the destination.

    Comment by Rebecca — Saturday, 8 December, 2007 @ 23:19

  23. A terrible ridiculous loss of Nicky. I am beginning to wonder if the results are rigged. Nicky can sing. She is a talented singer. Same difference cannot. They belong in musical theatre. I this a talent contect or a marketing contest??/!

    Comment by Ben — Sunday, 9 December, 2007 @ 00:10

  26. She was robbed-tremendous voice, personality etc.Should have been her and Rhydian last two with Leon third. The result was just ageist.

    Comment by dave — Sunday, 9 December, 2007 @ 00:33

  27. Niki’s thanks to Louis were misplaced as it was his error in constantly picking on Same Difference that ensured his protege’s downfall…that and claiming to speak for the whole of Ireland! When is he going to realise that this is a British show and the Brits always root for the one who’s being attacked? Simon was dead crafty, as always, in encouraging Louis to dig himself deeper and deeper. That said, maybe we’re just tired of the same old divas - good singers though they are - and do recognize the X factor when we see it, whether in Leona or, this year, in Rhydian.

    Comment by Bob Perkins — Sunday, 9 December, 2007 @ 01:32

  28. Niki why did you open your mouth to speak “no -one sings like this on this show”. I was just about to vote for you - did this effect anyone else’s opinion of Niki tonight.

    Comment by Sian — Sunday, 9 December, 2007 @ 02:22

  29. the whole show is a fix how can nikki be gone and same difference still be there I cannot beleive people actually kept them in to go through to the final. it was a fore gone conclusion that Rhydian would go through right from the beginning (not my cup of tea) but I can appreciate he can sing. I think I will give up watching after this series.

    Comment by angie vanner — Sunday, 9 December, 2007 @ 02:26

  30. It was a shame to see Nikki leave the show as she sang her songs very well. I think the problem was the song Louis chose for her - it was a pretty obscure number, whereas Rhydian sang two songs which everyone knew and could sing along to!

I am astonished that Leon got through. He was out of tune completely for the first song and for the second one, he was talking in parts. He must have a lot of friends voting for him!

Bring on X Factor 2008. Without Beverley or Nikki in the final, who cares?

    Comment by David — Sunday, 9 December, 2007 @ 03:49

  31. Same Difference should sing Abba’s “I have a Dream” in final with kids- ideal song for them that will win it for them. Very sad Nicky is out -she could make it on her own

    Comment by Peter Sooty — Sunday, 9 December, 2007 @ 05:50

  32. I think that this show is a complete shambles and nikki did not deserve to be voted out, she deserves to win it! This is just a massive fix and the only reason same difference is getting through is because they are simons act. This program needs to be taken off the tv!

    Comment by Johnathon Burn — Sunday, 9 December, 2007 @ 06:36

  33. At last Simon speaks the truth about Leon - he was flat last week and even worse this week, the final should have been Nikki v Rhydian - As it stands now Rhydian is the outright winner. For goodness sake though people please vote for him or we will be stuck with the hopeless Leon and the variety act Same Diff……….

    Comment by Billie — Sunday, 9 December, 2007 @ 09:31

  34. I was very surprised that Nicky was voted off last night. It would be good to know the percentages of the vote , I feel that they should do this every week; they won’t because they do not what the public to know how much money they make per show on the voting. Did I think the votes were rigged?? No I don’t think it was, however, I feel that the singers are not being judged on their performance which is very sad, people tend to judge people on their appearance, does not matter if you have an excellent voice if you are of a certain age or look like a sack of potatoes then your out, your not marketable enough.

It’s a great shame that books are judged by their covers, just think of the talent that is missed because the person is either older or is not classed as cute, pretty or beautiful.

The X Factor is no longer a singing competion. There must be a lot of patriotic people dreading their next telephone bills because they have hit the redial button too many times lol.

If there is an X Factor next year change the judges, stop this bitching amongst each other which is damaging their acts. Finally, no judges votes, from week one it should be the public vote and the number of votes should be displayed so that there is no quibbling about rigging.

I do not care who wins, the best have gone

    Comment by Dave — Sunday, 9 December, 2007 @ 09:51

  35. I thought the whole show is a fix and the voting is in shambles. What is wrong with the public?. I have backed up Niki all the way because she is the best, so what she is older, it doesnt matter about age or anything, its the voice and she has the whole package, she can sing. Leon was flat all the way, he should have been out last night and Same Difference, oh my god. Is this a talent singing contest or a pantomine?. Niki did not deserve to go at all. It is a total con.

    Comment by Victoria — Sunday, 9 December, 2007 @ 09:59

  36. I tried to vote for Nikki all evening but the lines were constantly engaged - the powers that be did not want her to go through! One word springs to my mind - rigged. I won’t be watching x factor any more. Rhydian deserves to win because he now has no competition - he’s the only one who can hold a note out of the remaining 3 finalists. What a joke!!

    Comment by deb palmer — Sunday, 9 December, 2007 @ 10:08

  37. PS If Same Difference were being mentored by Sharon, Louis or Danni then Simon would have annihilated them week on week until their demise from the programme.

    Comment by deb palmer — Sunday, 9 December, 2007 @ 10:15

  38. omg niki should stay! i canot believe it i vote like 100 times for her.. leon should have gone he’s not even good! he’s rubbish! he cant sing! rhydian to WIN!!! i hate x factor now after taking niki out!

    Comment by ryan — Sunday, 9 December, 2007 @ 10:45

  39. I have never seen the attraction to Leon - like Ray Quinn he is a one trick pony and I don’t think his voice is particularly strong - at least SD have some energy and enthusiasm and I do like Sarah - I too had similar problems at school to her and I think it’s great that she and her brother are giving it a go and enjoying it to boot. That said, it’s true to say that they would have been off weeks ago had they not been Simon’s act.

No way should Niki have gone - Leon should have been out - and way before Beverley too. There were only ever 3 good singers in the contest (if you don’t counnt little Phoebe who should have been in Sharon’s category as a soloist) and they were Bev, Niki and Rhydian. That would have been a proper final!

If Rhydian doesn’t win next week I’ll eat my hat!!!

    Comment by Louise Simons — Sunday, 9 December, 2007 @ 11:33

  40. I thought Simon last year slated the McDonald Brothers! Who were Louis’s act? i can’t remember, i think same difference are on par with the McDonald brothers!

So Simon has no choice BUT to back his act SD!!!!!I bet he secretly HATES them and wishes HOPE were still in!!!

Louis is right about SD and Simon cant agree cus again SD are hic act

    Anyone agree????

    Comment by Becky — Sunday, 9 December, 2007 @ 11:45

  41. Like some of the posters on here the goings-on of brother and sister in SD make me uncomfortable. I think the show is now a travesty - the real talent has gone except for Rhydian. I have tickets for the live tour but I intend to sell them because this is definitely not a talent show.

    Comment by Liz — Sunday, 9 December, 2007 @ 11:54

  42. Rhydian again proved he is in a class of his own. He is probably the most versatile singer that X Factor has ever seen. Leona Lewis is a great singer but a one trick pony. Leon and Nikki both deserved to go last night. Both have consistently had tuning problems and produce as much excitement as watching paint dry.
Listening to lots of comments about Same Difference their appeal seems to span the complete age range. It is not just kids voting for them. They are not great singers but tremendous fun to watch. They will get record and television contracts. The Spice Girls, Steps and S Club Seven were not great singers but had massive appeal. Same Difference fits into that category.
People have to come into the real world. Beverley and Nikki may have been able to sing but not enough people wanted to vote for them and fewer still would probably buy their cds or go to their concerts.
All these theories about vote rigging is purely sour grapes from people whose favourite act has gone.
I hope that Rhydian wins the final but there is massive support for Same Difference. The travesty will be if Leon wins.

    Comment by Peter — Sunday, 9 December, 2007 @ 12:01

  43. I was so pleased to see Niki voted out6. From the start she has played on losing her Father, we have all lost dear ones for goodness sake. Louis said it means such a lot to her to win, Simon very sensibly said it means a lot to all of them. Niki had started to show herself as not a very nice person with lots of nasty comments, and she thought she was the only worthy winner, telling us last night that no-one else on this show sings like this.
    GOOD RIDDANCE I SAY.

    Comment by Mel — Sunday, 9 December, 2007 @ 12:17

  44. You say Niki played on losing her father. Well the girl out of SD played on the fact she was bullied at school. which happens every day to alot of school kids, i for one was bullied, you just grow up except you were bullied and move on. sorry to be cynical but you do. That’s life and life is a B****

Well Niki was right that no one on this show sings like her . SD do not sing like her, Rhydian is an opera singer, Leon is more swing/jazz style, etc etc so yea Niki had every right to say what she said, so i think.

    Comment by Becky — Sunday, 9 December, 2007 @ 12:21

  45. Rhydian is not versatile, but he is v.good at what he does. Same Difference (Sarah in particular) were simply amazing last night. Both those acts were moving and fully deserved to go through.

Leon chooses awful songs for his voice. God, just go Sinatra and be done with it. Ray did that consistently last year and he came runner up.

Niki should have been booted 2 or 3 weeks ago (dreadful performances). However, her biggest problem was lack of relevance. Nobody on earth would want to write songs for her and so she would be doing kareoke style knock-off’s for the rest of her life. More cruise ship than diva I’m afraid.

    Comment by Ben — Sunday, 9 December, 2007 @ 12:44

  46. my first 3 favourites in this show are Beverly,Niki and Rhydian.i always vote for them every single week. now got Rhydian left…i hope people got wisdom to know who really deserves to win…come on people please vote who really deserves the best….let’s be true to ourselves…RHYDIAN YOU ARE MY WINNER!!!

    Comment by GLOCEL — Sunday, 9 December, 2007 @ 12:54

  47. Great, Niki is out, ruined her songs last night with her inability to hit the high notes, I’ll be glad to see the back of miss I’m better than anyone else, she thought she was such a good singer and she wasn’t. Leon was awful too, he was so out of tune in his first song, he can’t dance and he has no personality whatsoever, just a sulky schoolboy. Go Same Difference! They have bags of energy, constantly annoying but they are good entertainment and I’d buy their records as I would Rhydian, im so chuffed as my 2 favourites are still left, lets hope the awful Leon goes out first half next week, come on you scots, would you really buy his music?? I think not!

    Comment by annii — Sunday, 9 December, 2007 @ 13:10

  48. I agree with Annii, I’ve voted for SD all along, sure that Rhydian will win. So pleased for SD, I think people are uneasy with them because they have such a close relationship, maybe the rest of the worl would be a nicer place if we could all get on with our families etc. So go Sarah and Sean, you’ll have my votes next week. Give it up Leon, you’re no good, Ray Quinn was far better and did have such a likeability factor, I’ve seen more personality in my goldfish!

    Comment by Meggie — Sunday, 9 December, 2007 @ 13:21

  49. Great, Niki has gone, what crap and why sing big songs when you obviously can’t get the notes? Leon is so CRAP, should’ve gone weeks ago, come on scotland stop voting, you can’t tell me you’d really buy his records. Go SD, not destined to win but you’ve had my votes right the way through, I love Rhydian too so very pleased my 2 favurites are in the final, hope the pathetic Leon goes first half, I have a fish with more personality and is a little less sulky.

    Comment by annii — Sunday, 9 December, 2007 @ 13:26

  50. Rhydian. OK he was “strange” at first - but he was trying to stand out in the crowd. And he did. Love him or hate him Rhydian is definitely the best singer, he’s really talented and versatile, and he makes contact with the audience - an essential for X-factor, surely. I hope he wins, as I think he really has the X-for-Extra factor. Leon was appallingly out of tune last night. Cringe-worthy. How comes the judges didn’t mention it? He always looks uncomfortable. Not ready for the pressures of the big-time. Same Difference? Fun, and can sing. But would you want to listen to a whole album?

    Comment by Barbara — Sunday, 9 December, 2007 @ 14:01

  51. The best singer went out last night, I mean Nikki of course, and she showed us all how to lose too. Accepting disappointment with grace and dignity, I do hope this is not the end of her dreams.

As for Leon, who is voting for him and Why? He cannot sing in tune, his vocal range is limited, and his dancing wooden. I don’t wish to be unkind but he was way out of his depth last night, and he does himself no favours when he stares at the ground and bites his lip either, he is not comfortable on camera at all.

Same Difference got the sympathy vote last night after the bullying revelations. It obviously was a painful subject for both of them, but I suspect Simon was happy to have it revealed just before they sang their second song. After all what has Louie been doing every week to them if not bullying…. So as I say, they got the sympathy vote.

There is a lot of dirty work at crossroads me thinks.

    Comment by Bea — Sunday, 9 December, 2007 @ 14:39

  52. I think the act really need to be sent home is Leon….
Niki has great voice and as Louis said…like a real star…. There is no doubt that Rhydian is in the Final. However, I don’t really like the Chain reaction by Same Difference. But the 2nd song is much better which may be the reason that kept them in the final.

    Comment by Jack — Sunday, 9 December, 2007 @ 14:49

  53. I like Leon and think he deserves to be in final but it amazes me that none of the judges spotted that he was singing in the wrong key during the middle part of the first song ( not out of tune but a whole tone too high )He managed to get back on key at the end but it was spoiled and I could tell by his demeanour that he knew what had happened even if the judges didnt. I think Rhydian can sing in one style and Leon in another. Rhydian is too stiff for me and I prefer Leon

    Comment by neil smith — Sunday, 9 December, 2007 @ 15:55

  54. Think Leon has a great voice and i can see him making it more than the rest of them.Same Difference are rubbish and Ryd has a good voice but only appeals to a select bunch,Leon has the voice the looks the whole package.I voted 8 times on sat night think hes fab.cant wait to go and see him tomorrow night at the shopping centre my kids cant wait .GO LEON

    Comment by donna — Sunday, 9 December, 2007 @ 16:03

  55. oh my. well i didn’t expect that.
To be fair, niki was amzing and simon’s criticsms didn’t help her out. He was nit picking much of the time.

Anyway, aside from that, it’s not suprising. Rhydian is the most unique, Leon sells image and Same Difference are for younger audiences.

Pure talent holds no significance against all those other selling factors. But to be honest, if she’s good enough she’ll get noticed.

Good luck to the rest. Let’s not be bitter.

  58. I’m so glad Same Difference are through. Brilliant, entertaining and polished performances throughout the series by the brother and sister. It’s a real pleasure to watch them and to vote for them and to see how happy they are to progress in the competition. A truly wholesome act. Though I am from Wales like Rhydian, I would love to see Same Difference realize their dream and win. Good on you - you are a breath of fesh air on our screens. God bless you both. And don’t give up on your dream - you have many, many supporters willing you on.

  61. Sadly, it is image that sells. Rhydian has got an amazing voice, but seems to turn even mainstream songs into operatic anthems (my opinion). Same Difference - very sweet and wholesome, but lets face it, not the strongest of voices - notice they chicken out on the parts of songs that require a bit of oomph, they carry the tune but there is no va va voom behind them. Leon has got a great voice, swing naturally suits his voice - but is swing mainstream??? Niki’s voice - very strong, the songs she sang week after week VERY difficult songs to sing - you need a lot of power from your airbags to belt those out and remain in tune (which she did 99.9% of the time) - I thought it was a shame she went - I don’t think it helped that Louis and Simon were in constant battle over each other’s acts, Louis consistently made himself look like a small-minded t*t by harping on and on and on about Same Difference not deserving to be there, Simon was more subtle. Still - let the best man win so to speak! I hope Niki does get to pursue her singing career, even as a nightclub or cruise ship entertainer, let’s face it - got to be better than life as a dinner lady (no offence to all you dnner ladies out there x)

  62. The more I have watched x factor the more I think the voting is rigged. I have watched it from the beginning - cult viewer, but after last night disgusted. Nickie should be in the final with Beverley and Rydian. Same Difference are rubbish, Leon is a remake of Ben from last year (at least I think that was his name - so memorable I have forgotten!!!). Beverley should not have gone out when she did and Leon and Same Difference have taken the places of more talented contestants that did not get through to the live shows. Sorry, but the public got it wrong last night - thats if it was truly the true figures. I agree with others - vote figures should be put up on the screen when the results are given out.

  63. All fair comments on the singing talent, but final was predictable (I’ve got Rhydian at 14/1 to win six weeks ago). Remember that leading up to the £1M record deal, the organisers (Simon Cowell company) have got to produce entertaining TV and gain audience share. These 3 finalist cater for any viewer between the ages of 10-100; boppy Sis/Bro act for the youngsters, superb singer for the 20-40 year old and the young Sinatra soundalike, for the older generation. It’s all about a winning formula.

    Comment by Dirk Gently — Monday, 10 December, 2007 @ 00:07

  64. Go Same Difference!! I hope you are not paying any notice of the bad comments. You’ve got enough fans to win. So go out there give your best performance, because that’s what you are great performers. Go out and Win!!!

  65. Unfortunately it would appear that there IS some fixing going on! There were a large number of people who were unable to vote for Niki because the lines were constantly engaged! How could this happen if she got less votes than the others? The three finalists should have been Rhydian, Niki & Beverley but Simon owns the show and Simon has ALWAYS had an act in the final! Maybe next year they should re-name the show “The Simon Factor”.

  66. What a travesty that Niki is out and Same Difference are in. Who votes for these jokers? Sarah can’t really sing, her brother (Kel Day-Knight from Kath & Kim anyone?) carries her every time.
Rhydian will win, that has been obvious from the start, even if he is a twit, but Niki should have come second!!!

  67. Nikji should of gone, she could only do OLD big ballads.
Rhydians going to win, he’s the only good act their was (part from beverly and hope).

I’m going to watch it next week just to see them perform,

And Oh yeah, for that fussy b**** further up the page, how dare you say that the girl in SD deserved to be bullied.
Do you know what it’s like to be bullied?

  68. X Factor must be rigged if tone deaf Leon is still in and a good singers like Nikki are out of the show. But then I have thought that for a long time - this programme should be removed and an honest programme put in its place.

  69. I’m happy for Rhydian and Same Difference that they got through to the final. They are two acts who always give their all and spice things up a bit. Rhyd’s voice was beautiful as always and I really liked the sweet harmonies (and individual vocals) Sarah & Sean produced in Never Had A Dream Come True. Leon wasn’t good at all and he obviously knew it - very deflated. Niki did get a bit shouty in places but overall I think she should have gone through based on the performances last night - one act for each of three judges that way as well.

Note to B Field: your ‘incestuous’ comment about Same Difference was totally uncalled for. What a nasty person you must be to make such a hurtful personal remark just because your preferred act gets voted out of a tv talent show! They are a close and supportive brother and sister from a loving family - I think their sibling relationship is a joy to behold.

  70. With all due respect to all contestants and viewers/audience who of course have their own choices, we should remind ourselves (what Mr Cowell continuously reminds us of)that this is a singing competition. A bit unfortunate for the likes of Nikki & Bev but among those who are left - who is the one with the actual great voice and has the ability & potential to sing in a variety of genres without sounding flat? So think? Who are the kids’ entertainers, who is the potential West End/Broadway star, and who is the potential pop star that the BIG stars who know what it’s all about (Celine Dion and Mr Buble) have recognised??? All this person needs is good management, a bit of help with his confidence and great songs. He’s already got the voice! Think people, and remember Shayne and Leona - they’re what the X Factor is all about and so is he ( you know who I mean)!!!

  71. Same Difference would be great as our entry in next year’s Eurovision Song Contest; so much energy. But the deserved winner has to be Rhydian. Didn’t like him at first, but he’s grown on me. The programme is called the X-Factor and this guy has it.

  72. leon is so bad , he cant sing in tune , looks like a munchkin and his movement with those strange skinny short bow legs is weird .. get him out ..hes another twit from scotland.

    Comment by kevin — Tuesday, 11 December, 2007 @ 01:00

  73. Same Difference put their whole heart into it. Whilst Niki has a good voice she would end up being another Jane McDonald, talented but no X factor. Rhydian is going to be a star whether he wins or not so I’ll be voting for Same Difference .

  74. UK….. you do not know talent when you see it….go quick and buy hearing aids!!! Pathetic to have SAME DIFFERENCE still in the show…..RUBBISH!!

  75. Does no-one realise how hard it is to sing and dance at the same time, even some of the big stars mime when they are dancing. Very few artists can actually sing well live, quite often they are disguised by loud sound systems but SD always seem in tune to me. An I agree they woudl be great for Eurovision

    Comment by Phiiip — Tuesday, 11 December, 2007 @ 16:07

  76. YES!! SAME DIFFERENCE IN FINAL

but it shud have been them and niki she has an amzing voice, Leon cant sing and rydians just plain weird! S.D TO WIN!!!!

  77. I am gutted that Nicki went out on Saturday night, I was utterly gobsmacked, Leon should have gone, BRING NICKY BACK, it would have been a competition with Nicky and Rydian, but not now, I won’t be watching next week. FIXED definitely

    Comment by tillymint4 — Tuesday, 11 December, 2007 @ 21:01

  78. Neil Smith (post 53) rightly spotted that Leon lost it big-time in his first song last week.

The orchestra changed key from Ab to A and Leon should have gone with them. But he simply wasn’t listening and carried on a full tone higher than the orchestra was playing. To make it worse, the opening figure of the tune is an interval of a minor 3rd and he sang a major 3rd. By pure luck, he got himself back into the right key towards the end of the piece.

This performance was the musical equivalent of the Titanic hitting an iceberg. This isn’t ‘Talent Night’ at the local Working Men’s - this is a search for a singing star. However, like the Titanic, Leon should have sunk without all trace for this catastophic error.

I also have to question the ear of the judges. Apart from Dannie, none seemed to notice. Are they tone-deaf too? Both Dannie and Leon knew this performance was a disaster and gave it a better spin than it deserved.

Any the casualty? Niki - a perfectly competent singer and great entertainer. Leon knew that he was a fraud as soon as she was voted off. He should have done the honourable thing and stood aside.

  79. Same predictable anti scottish comments from a very bias english population….Leon is only 18 and can only improve with age…a real talent for the future.Niki should still be in the competition and SD SHOULD BE GONE!!! lISTEN ENGLAND….THE RESULT IS NOT A CERTAINTY.Scotland is right behind our guy.Why don’t you give him a break.Look to the future…LEON…TO WIN.

  81. can’t believe it!!! rigged from the moment Nicki first opened her mouth to sing on Saturday night! Nicki has the voice of an angel and the personality to match. I shall not waste my time watching XXXX factor any more it is so unreal

    Comment by caroline — Thursday, 13 December, 2007 @ 12:30

  82. Where do i start!!!!It’s about time we gave these acts a break.Anyone who has the GUTS to sing in front of the judges and millions of viewers gets a huge pat on the back from me.All the acts in the final deserve to be there because they received the most votes. Some people are too quick to knock people down when they are trying to better themselves.Leon comes from the same town in Scotland as myself and locally it has given the community a massive shot in the arm.He only started singing in January and…yes there is room for improvement. He is an every day, humble guy who is trying to make a better life for himself and his mum and because he is so shy and lacks confidence,it takes a lot for him to go out each week and do his best.Let me tell you that you have NOT seen the real LEON JACKSON yet!!!He was singing in Livingston recently and the nerves just went.He was superb with no one to judge him!! He will only get better and i am sure he could do without the people out there who are ready to stick the knife in.Lets be happy and support the underdog. He is a star and he will make it whether he wins x factor or not.Vote LEON….a vote for someone like ourselves(down to earth)….

  83. I cannot take seriously the comments of 79,81 and 82.
Nikki and Leon both have problems keeping in tune. Ask a professional singing coach what they think of their voices. I have asked a number and their replies were not complimentary. Leon does come over as a very pleasant but shy young man. In the future he may well improve but that is not a reason for him to win the X Factor 2007. It is nothing to do with the fact that he is Scottish.
In reality he and Nikki have no charisma and do not have the X Factor. Nikki already has one failed career in the music industry and it is apparent why. She does not have a voice that stands out or that is commercial.
Despite the many negative comments Same Difference have a much better chance of a successful career because they entertain and obviously have a massive appeal to a wide cross section of the public. I would not vote for them but I know a lot of adults who are.
Rhydian is a class act and has voice that is way above all the other contestants in terms of vocal quality. He has tried to be versatile in the types of songs he has performed. The Pet Shop Boys song was definitely questionable but apart from that he has been the outstanding act each week. He is going to sell cds and fill concert halls. If he does not win X factor it will be a travesty of the highest order.

    Would you buy there records?
    would you buy there album?

  87. my friend was in the contestants canteen and met rhydion. he said he’s the nicest fella. No airs and graces unlike the girl in Same differance who really thought she was ‘it’. She obviously puts on an act for the cameras with all her girly smiles. Big phoney!

    Comment by toni — Friday, 14 December, 2007 @ 08:55

  88. the x factor final is this saturday and everyone thinks rhydian will win why????? the x factor is meant to be a contest to find an act that would do well in the charts and has a wow factor. i am sorry but rhydian is not my idea of a pop star. none of the finalist light my fire but i think that i will be voting for same differene and that everyone should vote for them even if its just to p**s of danni minogue.same difference to win

    Comment by cathy — Friday, 14 December, 2007 @ 09:46

  89. I agree with comment 83, that there are definite issues with Leons vocals, and although he could certainly be a big name in the future, I think if he won, the investment in his career, would be like staking £1,000000 on a horse that pulls up lame occasionally. To continue the analogy, wait till he’s 100% fit, then invest in him.
Rhydian has a simply stunning voice, and is to my mind our first british ‘male’ diva. All the great ‘beltas’ Celine Dionne, Whitney Houston, Barbara Streisand to name just three have been women, it would be nice to see a man filling that slot in the music world.
Same Difference never fail to entertain, and I enjoy their singing, their live shows would simply dazzle, but producing cds that sold in large numbers, once the first excitement had died down could be a problem.
Were I investing in the winners recording career,I would be keeping fingers firmly crossed for Rhydian to win. Remember too that up to this time his singing has always been in the classical field, so he still tends to sound a little ‘operatic’, but give him a few more months to get into the more commercial sound, and wow!
    I can’t wait.

  90. I love Same Difference, they bring a smile to my face every time they are on, Rydian is going to be a star anyway so I’m voting for Same Difference, I think the song the winner is going to be singing really suits them.
They are really good role models for young people, they are dedicated and very wondeful people (I got to meet them last week).

    Come on SD! xxx

  91. I cannot believe that Same Difference “Cabaret Act” are in this final although i think the show is fixed they will win, if they dont i’ll eat my words! I really think Rydian should win due to his vocal abilities and Leon being fun like he is and has come a long way since the beginning could win but i think its fixed and Same Difference will win….we shall see.
If they win i will not watch it anymore.
