Kimberley the first act to leave X Factor 2007

It was a bit of a shaky start for X Factor 2007, with many performances below potential with the pressure of the first live show.

The two act showdown for the acts with the lowest number of votes was between two of Sharon’s acts - Alisha and Kimberley. Sharon then refused to vote - which was actually quite handy, with there being four judges this year, and thus easy potential for a deadlock.

Worse was to come for Kimberley, as she missed her cue at the start of her final performance of “It’s Raining Men”.

Simon voted to send Kimberley home ‘on the basis that it’s a singing competition’, whilst Dannii opted to vote for the removal of Alisha.
That left Louis with the casting vote, and he chose to keep Alisha for another week.

  1. what a load of rubbish, kicking kimberley out and keeping them same difference, and hope in if thats not fixed then im mother tereasa.

  2. I started watching X Factor at 05:45 as per the Radio Times and didn’t see Kimberley perform. Did X Factor start early and, if so, is that fair. I only found out at the end that Kimberley was the first to perform. Surely many people didn’t see her so her votes were bound to be less.

  3. what a fix again…..xfactor is proving to be fixed just like last year…. why oh why is it being fixed and the public being robbed of thier hard earned cash, when it is supposed to be a publicly voted show are the directors producers and all involved with the show making the decisions for us the public…… answers on a postcard please!

  4. Hi,

What a disastrous result!……What a pity Kimberley had to go on the first week, not that I thought Alesha should have gone either.

I thought Kimberley had a great voice and a personality to match and thought she did a great job of opening the show, with dancers, pianos, dancing. I thought she did really well.

But, please the DRESS, THE HAIR!!! What was Sharon thinking??….and the SONG come to that.

I would have had Kimberley looking as close to what she really looks like as possible and picked a big balad to show of those vocals in a classy decent frock.

I appreciate she may have wanted to concentrate on Kimberely’s fun side, but in fact she just made her look a bit silly and unrecognisable in appearance. The dress was hideous, the hair and the make up. Awful, Awful Awful.

Poor Kimberley, I feel that the right song and presentation and just concentrating on her voice she would still have been in the running without a doubt.

We have all been robbed of a great voice and a great character. Instead we have the lacklustre Daniel (very disappointing performance) and the weird twosome instead to bore us to death with instead! Doh!

Its all wrong. Get Kimberely back with a decent song and a decent frock!

Simon Cowell has gone down in my estimation. Its obvious he doesn’t like the girl (his loss) and she did NOT deserve those comments.

  5. A sad shame for Kimberly, not one of the other acts could have opened the show like she did. There one true person who should have gone home actually got voted back in first, i feal cheated!

  6. Can anyone please give me a list of all the standard songs x factor uses in the audition episodes wen they are tellin the emotional stories and also wen ppl are gettin reject at late stages or wen going home to tell there families…..will be very much appreciated xx

  7. omg lastnight was well a fix. kimberly didnt deserve to go home. i personaly thought she was great.if any one was to go i would say same difference. and kimberly must of been nervous with being the first contestant to perform so i say you should get her back and let her sing a different song…!!!

  8. oh my god who is actually still voting on these programmes…… haven’t you seen the recent news coverage about the whole ITV scam???? I voted in last years fiasco but never again….. You are just lining the pockets of all the fat cats who dont give a damn…. Dont vote at all…save your cash…. its all pre determined anyway your votes dont count……

ps…. I thought they were all rubbish last night except for Niki who has a fantastic voice and sounded way better than auditions or boot camp…. GO NIKI!!!!

  9. I have watched X Factor since the start and never have I been so outraged by the unfairness involved here. I have never emailed or text complaints before but I feel I need to here. In all the TV listings I can find it was scheduled to start at 5.45 yet it came on I imagine around 5.25 meaning few people would actually have seen Kimberley Sing. Going first is always tough on the first show as you cannot draw on past performances for votes. I tuned in at 5.43 to see Andy and waited all show to see her. My dad even thought I was wrong about her making the top 12. Then came the 20 second recap where I realised she had gone first. How can anyone vote on that? The song wasn’t the greatest but she has a terrific voice. I love country music and loved the fact Kimberely sang Redneck Woman in the auditions. I’d stick with the country Kimberely as country fans are really supportive and you could do really well with this market. I doubt my comments will make a shred of difference but I hope you realise it was not your fault you got voted off. Marie, 27, Wolverhampton

  10. I agree with all the comments and fully support the comments by z seymour, How on earth did leon get that vote. He was out of tune missed several key changes and lacked confidence, he was as nervouse at the end as he was at the begining, he has struggled all the way through even in rehersals, surly people can see that, But thats sympathy for you.

    Comment by Lou — Sunday, 21 October, 2007 @ 12:29

  11. I agree with Tony. I didn’t start watching the show until 5.45pm as listed. Kimberley should be given a huge apology and another chance. I appreciate it was because of the rugby game but the judges should have attempted to give all the contestants a fair chance. How can anyone vote for Kimberley without seeing her perform?

    Comment by Pat — Sunday, 21 October, 2007 @ 12:36

  12. I feel so sorry for Kimberley. She did a fantastic job of opening the show, and yes it did start very early. On
performance she should certainly have gone on for several more weeks.Kimberely said she didn’t want to just work in a bar. Well, Kimberley, you showed you believed in yourself, and quite right too. To be honest I didn’t like her brash way at the early auditions, but soon recognised that underneath lies a very sensitive girl. Don’t give up on your dreams.

  13. Did anyone else notice that Alisha’s singout with Kimberley was edited? When she started singing the steps she had come down during her first performance were nowehere to be seen. During the song they miraculously appeared and when she finished they were gone again! So we (the poor mug audience who pay for all this)didn’t actully see her performance in the singout. We only saw what the show’s prodcuers wanted us to see! Was there a plot to get rid of Kimberley no matter how Alisha sang?

    Comment by Lee — Sunday, 21 October, 2007 @ 15:30

  14. Did anyone else notice the continuity error in the so called live results show last night repeated on Sunday afternoon?

During Alisha’s sing off the large picture frame which she sang with in the first show magically re-appeared and then disappeared again during her song. Also Sharon could be seen back on the panel when she had already walked off refusing to vote.

What happened? Why was a section of the first show spliced into the results show?

    Any one know?

  15. I think the mix up of the start time to the show on saturday meant that a lot of viewers missed kimberleys performance so, they didnt vote for her..itv3 and simon cowell need to look into this with urgency…..I think she was brilliant and she should have stayed on the show, she did a really great perfomance..she was one of the best on the show, without doubt.I mean what about same difference, there performance lacked everything for me…so, sharon please stay on the show, look into why there was a mix up on the time the show started and stick up for you acts..I want kimberley back on the show!!!!!!!…..Good Luck Kimberley

  16. All of the acts were poor. I`ve heard better down the local.

  17. Is just me or has no-one else notice a small problem with Alisha Second performance?

During her first performance she started on the top of a small set of steps, and then moved down them during the performance. Then for the second performance there were no steps or WHERE THERE? About 3qrts through her second performance the steps suddenly appear and then disappear again after a second or so.

What the hell is going on? Have ITV just proved that the show is fixed? The 1 second clip is clearly been added in to an apparently LIVE performance, what a foul up! But why was it neccesary? It was the judges decision at this point anyway.

No that I really care I don’t think anyone should be able to achieve instant fame like that, all those truly talented people out there that struggled for years doing crap gigs just to get noticed, must be really ticked off!

  18. I only noticed at one stage Sharon was at the table for a second then she was gone having said she wasnt goin to vote i thought that was strange however I think Kimberly should be given another go coz i too looked forward to her performance and missed it coz the show was on earlier than stated so i missed her..she was my favourite as all through the auditions and boot camp there was no sob storey from her she was a brill character who was just out to have a great time, obviously Simon didnt like her but I think the song and dress too made a mess of things for her from just looking at the sing off seeing as i missed her original performance. The Pussy cat doll singer said at sharons auditions that Kimberlty had some set of pipes!! I dont think the rest of the judges will get to see this now seeing as she has been unfairly voted off. Dont think theres anyone left to look forward to now. Like Andy and Leon think when he gets a better song he would be good, As for HOPE..(Theres not a HOPE!!) The judges said they were as good as any girl groups around..if the pussy cat dolls or Girls Aloud were to put on a show like that Id be outta there!! GIVE KIMBERLY ANOTHER CHANCE-TV GUIDES RUINED HER CHANCE

  19. Kimberley should not have been sent off this week. There were a lot worse than her. On another note, I would like to say that I thought the outfits worn by most of the contestants were disgraceful.

    Comment by Sharon — Monday, 22 October, 2007 @ 10:30

  20. Just like to say big mistake choosing Kimberely to Leave ,She could of been Like a new Bonnie Tyler if not dressed up like a fun character but kept her natura way . If only some one had of opened their eyes and seen the talent this girl had ,she was your classic Bonnie.I tnink youse let the best one slip out of your hands.

  21. At the age of 28 I have been watching x-factor since the first show.Is it Possible to bring back Kimberely, start the show all over again ,This Time dont touch her hairor makeup, leave her in a pair of jeans and T-shirt and keep her in a zone of country/rock cause that girl has a cool voice. I believe they really messed up in makeup, song and act therefor she should get another chance.I know someone has to go but I think last saturday was a mess. from lou in dublin city

  22. i dont usually add comments to posts like this but on this occasion i think its deserved my time..

i felt really sad for kimberly, and like many others i missed her performance..i dont think either of the girls should have been in the bottom 2 competing for a place…

this years x-factor is very poor with many poor performers, especially in the male catagory…rhydian i guess is good in his own way but i dont think he is right for x-factor…

i dont vote and never will as like many others i believe it is fixed to a certain extent…only idiots and morons would have kept those creepy sister and brother act in and daniel (theone in the grey suit) was appalling…how must kimberly be feeling now knowing she was thrown out with them 2 still in it?

i hope kimberly gets to read the positive comments about her and i hope she doesnt give up her dream…given the right training, songs and the right manager she could go far..

    Comment by deedee — Monday, 22 October, 2007 @ 16:08

  23. I thought that Simons treatment of Leon was appalling, taking account of the fact that he took a risk and tried something different despite his inexperience his performance was great. The quality of his voice was excellent

    Comment by Tracy — Monday, 22 October, 2007 @ 16:44

  24. I was gutted to see kimberley voted out she has a brilliant voice and was good to watch

  25. X-Fix Factor - The show is totally fixed. In more ways than one. All this leaving the show business is rubbish. 1st with the little irish man now with the Osbo or ASBO. What’s next Simon to leave!!! I don’t think so, he wants to make another 100 million.

So another year of fixing desperatly trying to get viewers. People I hope will see through it and boycott it. Strickly Come Dancing is winning the war on viewership even though I’m a guy and can’t admit that the show’s OK.

If I need to watch the X-Fixer I will watch the multiple re-runs that show up the week afterwards, but I will never watch on a Saturday night again. I’d rather go down the pub and get smashed than watch Simon Coward comment on another fixed singing performance. Who would of thought that someone could make so much money from saying that’s rubbish blah da blah da blah, yeah I know he own’s his own production company but please someone’s been stupid enough to give him lots of money, now they have created a monster…..

    Comment by Nick — Saturday, 27 October, 2007 @ 10:58

I too think that due to the mix up in programme start times people did NOT get to see her performance, the song was simply NASTY, her out-fit was TERRIBLE and her macup was SHODDY… What chance did the poor girl get??
She is definately one of the best tallents in this years X-Factor, and to be totaly honest there is NOT much tallent there now, So BRING KIMBERLEY BACK!!!
The Same Difference are NOT for this show, they should keep doing cruise ships & OAP’s homes, this is where they will flourish and be appreciated, instead of ruining out Sat night TV!!!! When I retire and have to live in a OAP home or go on holiday on a cruise ship is the ONLY time that I would listen them!!!!!!

    Comment by Nessa — Saturday, 27 October, 2007 @ 12:28

  27. I think X-factor is completely fixed. I will take a bet with anyone for any amount that the Girl Band that was formed out a bunch of crappy singers wins the show. There has never been a band win and they set one up delibertaly to win. One day someone will find them out
