Ben Mills Turns Down X Factor Appearance

Filed under: 2006 Contestants, Ben, General

27 year old Ben Mills, who was the third place runner up in last year’s X Factor, has reportedly turned down an offer to return with a guest appearance to this years X Factor show, because he doesn’t think it will do him any favours. Ben, who is currently signed to SonyBMG and is working on his second album said:

“I’m still in touch with people who work on ‘X Factor’. They have been in touch and said do you wanna come on and do some stuff. But to be totally honest I’m really trying to sidestep anything to do with the ‘X Factor’ now because I don’t think it’s going to do me any favours.”

  1. What planet is he on? Leona is appearing on the X-Factor so why does he think he’s too good? Millions of people tune in to watch the show so I don’t know how he can possibly think it won’t do him any favours. Most people have forgotton him by now, it would have put him back in peoples minds but by getting publicity outta saying he doesn’t want to appear on the show that gave him his start it’s really gonna piss people off-I know it’s pissing me off, I voted for him and now wish I hadn’t!! Any thoughts anyone?

  2. I agree, I liked him at one point last year but noticed changes closer to the end of the show where his ego seemed too big to make him an interest to me.He isn’t the sort of person I would want to buy an album from, and he should be thankful the X factor gave him the chance to be on the show, all this says to me is sore loser!

  3. Absolutely girls. A little humility goes a long way, and his first album wasn’t that good. He needs the publicity.

  4. Ben Mills was my favourite last year.I wondered what happened to him. (akin to Kurtis Steiger in my opinion) This year’s contestants are good, but not a ‘patch’ on Ben, Ray and Leona! PS. Bring back The Mc Doughnuts, all is forgiven!

  5. X factor put you on the map. You’ve now taken yourself off it!We loved you’re singing Ben, but it sounds like you think you are too good for us. Stick to ‘Bouncey Castles then!I for one WON’T buy your second album, even though I loved you on x-factor! THINK AGAIN!

  6. never liked him- what an idiot- if he didn’t go on x factor then nobody would even know who he was…
it would probably do him well to go back on the show coz what’s he done since…. NOTHING

  7. I really don’t blame him for not wanting to go on there. Fair enough he could use it as a publicity thing… but unless his album is that sort of style- i.e. manufactured pop- why would you go back to it? if he’s tried to move away from it then it’s sort of hypocritical to go back on it and use it for his own benefit. and maybe he’s done nothing in the public eye- but he’s probably been working real hard with his music- it’s not fair to say he’s done nothing since!
