Simon Cowell is reportedly thought to be strongly considering dropping Sharon Osbourne from the X Factor in the future.
The issue has arisen after Sharon told ‘Who Wants to be a Millionare?’ host Chris Tarrant not to ‘diss my family you f***er’ after he made fun of Ozzie’s slurred speech. He is also reportedly concerned about the dismal ratings for her ITV1 chatshow.
Simon has recently signed a deal with ITV to continue the X Factor until 2009, so whoever is judging, there will be a fair few more stars found by the show yet!
It was expected ever since she was announced as the winner of X Factor 2006, but tonight it’s official: Leona Lewis is Christmas Number 1 2006!
Her song, ‘A Moment Like This’ won over competition from Take That, McFly and Girls Aloud.
Released on Wednesday, the track had already become the fastest selling download ever, selling over 20000 copies in the first hours after release.
After winning the X Factor, and with the pressure of a probable Christmas number 1 with her single ‘A Moment Like This’, Leona Lewis is to spend a few days off relaxing with her family, according to the Islington Guardian.
“Hopefully we’ll be spending Christmas together. I’m trying to persuade the company to let us spend Christmas together - but when you’ve got this kind of exposure after winning the X Factor you need to make the most of it!”, said Joe Lewis, Leona’s father.
He continued, “I’m really proud of her. It’s a dream come true for Leona. She has worked for years and stayed focused on her dream. It’s thanks to her friends and family and the people of Islington and Hackney and everyone else who voted for her”.
It has been announced that Leona will be flying to New York to have talks with Clive Davis who runs J Records in America – the major label behind Alicia Keys, Whitney Houston, Annie Lennox and Rod Stewart.
Clive has reportedly told Simon Cowell that he has listened to Leona and really likes her and a source has told the Daily Mirror: ” Leona’s X Factor prize is peanuts compared to what Clive is offering. When Clive called Simon Cowell, he was talking £5million. Leona and Simon will fly to meet him.”
