Welsh born 18 year old, Richard Peachy, made a welcome return to this years X Factor after being kicked out of Louis’ boot-camp last year for repeatedy forgetting his lines due to a hang-over from the night before.
This year, however, he auditioned as part of a boy band called “Junction 4″ and as they sang, it was immediately clear to Simon, Louis and Sharon that Richard was the only one with any real singing talent so he was told to ditch the band and re-audition on his own. Said Richard “We were put together and I hardly knew them so it was easy for me to leave. We had only been together a few weeks.”
When Richard returned an hour later without the other three, he sang a great version of “Hello” by Lionel Ritchie and received a resounding “yes” from all three judges with Simon commenting that his outfit was “hideous” and that he was a bit like “a beaten dog”. Looking forward to seeing himat X Factor boot camp.

Last night’s X Factor concentrated on the best and worst of the auditions in Glasgow and Newcastle. Simon commented that the first day in Glasgow was a “horrendous day” and that no-one in Scotland had come even close so far! That soon changed when 44 year old Katy – a supervisor for a plumbing manufacturers sang infront of the judges with Sharon commenting that she had a “nice, natural voice” and Simon saying that she was “exceptional”
In Newcastle, Laura impressed all three judges with her punk style and voice and Tina, an 18 year old barmaid who had a heart condition but who had discharged herself from hospital to get to the audition impressed the judges with her version of “Killing me softly” which Simon thought was “terrific”
Identical twins Jemma and Hayley didn’t make a great impression on Simon who said “you don’t look right, you don’t sound right and you can’t go through” and also that they looked demonic when they sang. Sharon and Louis disagreed with Simon and put them through.
