For those that missed out on the pre-arranged audition process, there are to be open auditions for X Factor series 3 at Old Trafford in Manchester on Sunday June 18th 2006.
This is your last chance to get on the X Factor if you think you have the talent it requires, so if you’ve not auditioned already we’d urge you to go along!
Those who think they have the X Factor should prepare a verse and chorus to sing, plus a second song choice and must bring photographic ID (passport or picture driving licence).
Gates open at 9am in the West stand and auditionees are seen on a first come, first seen basis so getting there earlier may help avoid the huge queues.
Good luck!

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee i am soooo goin i am getting all excited!!!! I have the x factorrrrrrrrrrrrrrr wooo

Hmmm I did not think that applications would have to be sent in so quickly. The thing is you are only holding a last chance audition in Manchester, is that not a bit unfair for people from other parts of the country who could not possibly get there but would like the chance?

I went for an audition in May. Unfortunately I did not get through but the Panel did let me sing the song through so it could not have been that bad. I guess my age (50) is against me but at least I had a go. The way I felt was a bit disappointed but no one died so maybe I will have another go next year. I think that they are looking for YOUNGER people. Its all good and I want to wish them all the best of luck.

Does anyone know whether any previous X Factor contestants who didn’t get a pre-arranged audition but got through from an open audition ever made it through to the finals?

Hey everyone!
I’m contemplating going to the open auditions in Manchester this sunday if i can build up enough courage.
What exactly is the process, i mean, i take it you get seen by the producers first rather than the judges? And IF you get through do you then have to perform in front on the judges on the same day or a different day etc? How many stages is it until you go to london…
I think a few sneaky shots of vodka will be needed to calm the nerves on sunday!!!
Any advice on auditon tips or Info would be fab!

Unfortunately feel that the x factor has become too much about what will look good on tv and not now about the possible talent that an individual has and how you can judge a person on about 60 seconds singing you tell me - unfortunately I did not get through but all the best to those who did especially those who had audition room c on Tuesday 6/6/06 08.00 audition as the judge was being I feel exceptionally harsh with allowing only 5 people through in 2 hours of auditions and in comparison to the other audition areas was terribly low

SECONDLY WAS ADVISED BY BACK ROOM STAFF THAT THE OPEN AUDITION (MANCHESTER, OLD TRAFFORD)WAS EXPECTING IN EXCESS OF 20,000 PEOPLE AND THAT THERE WAS NO WAY THIS MANY WOULD BE SEEN - SO IF YOU WANT TO GO FOR IT I WOULD GO CAMPED OUT FOR THE NIGHT AS YOU WONT GET IN IF YOU LEAVE IT TILL 9AM TO GO - AND ALSO PLEASE REMEMBER THAT UNLESS THERE IS AN EXTRA ROUND FOR THOSE WHO ARE LUCKY ENOUGH TO GET THROUGH THERE HAVE ALREADY BEEN 3 PRE QUALIFYING ROUND THROUOUT THE COUNTRY SO IT IS GOING TO BE NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO GET THROUGH - ANY WAY ALL THE BEST TO YOU ALL - AND I WILL BE BACK NEXT YEAR

My son and daughter have camped out overnight at the Manchester audition and so are pretty near the front of the queue. I have just telephoned to see how they are doing and they say that people are now turning up and just pushing in the queue in front of them. Are there no securiity measures to stop this type of behaviour?
