i don’t think that Shayne should have won X Factor yeah he’s talented but someone had rose coloured glasses on when he was picked. Maria should have gone all the way she was amazing.

I entered the X factor 2005! i didnt even get to audition in front of the real judges let alone get through to the second round!! I have been singing since the age of 10, entering competitions after competitons and winning! I have had main parts in shows and not being big head (i hate that, lol) im a generally good singer and believed i had what it took to make it on to TV! X factor put a damper on that one, but i will never give up! im gonna enter again this year because it is my dream and i guess its everyone elses to! There were hundreds of talented singers (some professional) that did get in, instead comedians who could not sing (no offence) and some with no talent whatsoever, got through. Yes i Cried, i wanted it soooo bad, but NEW YEAR brings new things!! x x x

Comment by Emma — Thursday, 20 April, 2006 @ 12:03
I just got my audition time through! Tuesday 30th May at 9am in Newcastle. I am very excited, though a little scared as I’ve never auditioned for anything before. The callback is on July 10th, but I will be in Europe travelling then. Doh! Is there any chance, do you think, of swapping the callback date if I was fortunate enough to get through? My sister has her audition in London and callbacks are at the beginning of June. I’d prefer that if possible. Anyone know of a possibility to swap? I can make the first audition on May 30th so I guess I’ll ask them there (if I get through! I am being so optimistic!!!)

Comment by Emma — Friday, 21 April, 2006 @ 10:49
Like most people, I think, I’m a little worried that I haven’t heard anything back when loads of other people have. Is it definate that they send letters back to everyone… cause a lot of people apply. Also, is it true that alongside application auditions, they have open auditions as well?
Some of my friends have letters, so I’m sad that I don’t. Oh well.

Hey, I can’t do London on May 16th sorry. The thing is, I can actually do May 30th in Newcastle, that ain’t the problem. It’s the callback, if I get one, that is the wrong date. We’ll see what happens though, I won’t even get through probably. If any prospective Newcastle auditionees want to contact me, I am Onetouch1@hotmail.com on MSN. Would be good to go with someone!

Hi guys!
Anyone had their auditions so far yet? Mine’s next week. I heard there’s a lot of waiting around etc, even if you are given an audition time…as loads of people get given the same time. How have people got on (if you can say), what’s your experience, did you have a lot of waiting around? What tips can you share?
Cheers Mxxx
PS - Going to be cheeky here but there’s a hell of a lot of you who can’t even spell audition! If you want to be a celebrity then you’re going to have to learn the basics of the English language lol!

Hi folks,
Well I’m well gutted, I thought I’d get an invite to the ball, but it didn’t happen.
I applied very early and did everything right, but as with many of you, didn’t hear a thing. I managed to find out, through my own volition, that the Birmingham auditions are over. It’s criminal the way they leave you hanging on in hope.
I would love to know where I went wrong with the application form, did they even receive it. who knows.
It would be nice to have some feed back.
Those of you who have audition dates, well done, I wish you all the best.

Don’t lose heart. I don’t know the way they play things but….I would suggest the producers will see how many people they put through from the original auditions before they post about open auditions. E.g. If they need to put 6000 from the north of England through to round two, but the planned auditions only produce say 4500…they’ll probably run some open auditions to pick up an extra 1500 to make up the difference?
Hope that’s some help.
Comment by Smithy — Friday, 5 May, 2006 @ 16:10
Bilail! Good Luck!
I’m on at Leeds too but on the 10th. Hope you do ok. I’m well nervous, I always thought I had a good voice but now I’m feeling v self-conscious and like they’re bound to pick some fault with it.
Apparently it is true that you sing in front of producers the first time (and I think you do for the call back too). I think it’s the 3rd audition that you get through to the TV auditions. Amazing how much rubbish that just isn’t good TV gets through!

Hey there people!
I had my audition last wednesday, it went great and i got through.
This is how it goes, you get seen by the producers of the show and then if you get through your next audition is with the judges, Don’t b faint hearted though, they do lots of filming and interviews at the first audition and it is loads of fun for the whole day, and you will be waiting for a while. I even got to meet kate thornton who it fiinnneeee, btw, so people good luck, have a good time and give em summet special. PS if you go dressed daft, you WILL get through the first round, i swear, they put everyone through like that so they can film you being told to bugger off my the judges, GOOD LUCK PEOPLE!!!

I entered the X factor this year and went to the London audition. I did really well, i sang brilliantly and effortlessly, i was humble, i dressed stylishly and most importantly i was myself. I have been singing for 7 years, performed in front of hudreds many times, have confidence and want to be part of the cmpetition to better myself and ultimately get a record contract. However, we all had to audition for the producers of the show, who were 3 young girls…..as i far as im concerned what on earth did they know. They let mup0pets through and seriously im not kidding. An fat, indian woman, about 40 years old, singing Maddonas like a prayer in an accent and out of tune!!!! I rest my case.
I will continue to pursue my dream. This was a tiny set back….but im going to go to the open auditions in Manchester but i need the dates. I want to perform to Simon, Louie and Sharon….

Comment by Laura — Wednesday, 24 May, 2006 @ 00:31
Hey every one.
I had my auditon yesturday and it was a very long day! I got there an hour early but honestly there is no point in that because you get seen in number order any way and it justs makes the day even longer.
I was in the very last group of 10 to be seen and the one woman and one bloke who looked suspiciously like one of the researchers i saw walking about earlier were very straight face and looked a bit bored. I did my best but i think my nerves did get the better of me a bit after all that waiting. The researcher came a and spoke to me while i was waiting but i don’t think i was wacky enough to interest her in getting the camera over. They were interveiwing this guy with a broken leg a lot and a little old man who looked like one of those gurners- you know the ones who put there heads through a ring and pull a funny face.
So I didn’t get through and yes i was a bit choked especially as i knew my mum and all my family and friends were waiting at home to hear the news. But you do have to just treat it as an experience.

hi, i rang the hotline number and a man got back to me, but you can’t rearrange any auditions or swap them, but he did tell me that they are having open auditions at Old Trafford in Manchester on the 18th june, but as some people are saying, this date is after the callbacks and i may just be to record everone in the stadium saying “I’ve got the X-factor!”
But then again as someone suggested they might need to make up numbers if they don’t put enough people through as they had intended to, either way i’m still going to try my look on the 18th! Surely they’ll have to put some people through from that day, it would be quite unfair to get so many people turning up with no actual chance.

Hello….
AFTER 3 MONTHS of nail biting I got a date!
For everyone out there hanging on for an AUDITION LETTER..
I’d resided myself to the fact I wasn’t going to get a chance.. then the audition letter dropped on my doorstep 26th May 2006 - I sent my letter on the 9th March this year… it pays to wait!!
Manchester 14th June 2006.
You have to take the letter as it has your UNIQUE number, and you will not be allowed to participate unless you sign a release form which they provide with the audition letter. You cannot SWAP or EXCHANGE
dates. If you miss it you will not be allocated another slot.
This is funny, 27 years old and for 20 years i’ve sung every song under the sun, and now I have my chance I can’t even choose one to rehearse ARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGHGH!
Good luck to everyone who has an audition!

*As taken from the Xfactor.tv website*
AUDITION FOR THE X FACTOR – AND MEET SIMON, SHARON, LOUIS, AND SHAYNE…!
Do you think that YOU have The X Factor? If you are a singer or group and you think that you’ve got what it takes to be the next big thing, you can show off your talent at this year’s open audition.
The open audition will be held at Old Trafford Football Stadium, the home of Manchester United, in Manchester on June 18. Gates open at 9am.
This is your chance to shine – so make sure you arrive early to take your first step towards stardom. And it’s your opportunity to see The X Factor judges Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne as well as last year’s winner Shayne Ward, who will be performing for the crowds in the morning.
Auditions will be held on a first come, first seen basis so turn up early to avoid disappointment!
General Information:
The auditions will be held in the West Stand so please make your way there following the signs. If you are coming as part of a group please look for the groups signs as there will be two separate queues.
There will be food and drinks available to buy at the ground.
Queuing will take place outside so please do prepare for the weather and expect either sunshine and rain. So sun cream, hats and umbrellas are a must!
We are expecting a huge turnout so be prepared for a long day and get there early to avoid the queue.
On the day you will be given a unique ID sticker. It is really important that you do not lose this as you will not be allowed to audition without it. No sticker = no audition.
Prepare a verse and a chorus, and have a second song prepared as well.

I didn’t get through! Loads of the “wacky” ones did, and ones who I assume were amazing singers, I didn’t hear them, but not many people got through.
It sucks cos they don’t give you feedback, so you don’t know quite why you didn’t get through, if the look isn;t right, or your voice not strong enough, etc. I don’t think it was my voice, I think it was mroe cos I didn’t perform in other aspects, like with my face and that. But we were queing in the pouring rain for about half an hour, and I was still soaked 5 hours later when I went to sing, so I wasn’;t really in the mood by then! Good luck to everyone who is thrugh to the next stage and those who are still waiting to audition!

hey had my audition in mewcastle today, sadly i didnt get through, think nerves showed through in first two lines of my song but the rest went well, there were loads of really good singers not gettin put through so dont b insulted if u dont, from nine to 12 only 4 people from my section got through, and one of them was a weirdo lol!!
basically u go into a room infront of one of the producers who say yes or no, u dont get given any feedback or constructive criticism just a yes or no. but i would say befriend the cameras, a couple of the people who got through seemed to have been picked before they even got up to sing as the ones who were gettin intivewied and everything on camera beforehand got through.
open auditions on 18th though so might see u there!!
good luck everybody!

Had my audition today and didn’t get through. Oh well, next year I will!
To those auditioning soon, don’t worry, it isn’t scary at all. Everyone is really nice, and rejection was painless! Good luck!

hi,
My audition is in Glasgow on the 12th July, I am quite nervous about it, but i have sometime to work through that! I guess! I know what song i am singing for the first audition, but does it have to be a different song for the 2nd? anyone tell me pls?
By what i have heard already i dont really think its fair that people are getting through that have no talent! ie the ones that really dont want this and dress stupidly! But i guess thats what seen as making good TV eh? but hopefully it goes well and they will let some decent talent through!
Actually make it a competition!!!
Good Luck All x

Comment by Sherrie — Monday, 19 June, 2006 @ 11:15
HI ALL. I WENT TO THE OPEN AUDITIONS, WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP! THE WHOLE EVENT WAS A HUGE ATTEMPT TO MAKE THE SHOW LOOK GREAT ON TV. EVERYONE HAD TO SING 2 A PRODUCER OUTDOORS, WITH A LOT OF NOISE AROUND U. I DIDNT GET A SECOND AUDITION. IT WAS SO BAD THE WAY THEY DID IT. SO MANY GREAT SINGERS DIDNT GET A LOOK IN. THEY HAD EVERY ONE LIKE PUPETS, GOING CRAZY 4 THE CAMERAS. HOPE THEY GOT ALL THE FOOTAGE THEY WANTED, BECAUSE THEY DEFFO DIDNT GET ALL THE TALENT.
Comment by Phil — Monday, 19 June, 2006 @ 18:15
hi there got through the open auditions in manchester as a journalist it was nice to see how the audition was been held and how they play with young people’s lives and all the crap singers were put through i ‘ve been a performer for ages and sharon osbourne is one of my fans as soon as the producers said no i just couldn’t help but laugh can’t wait to sell my story to the sun the funniest part of it i saw my back up dancer 2 hours before i had my audition and she got through to boot camp and she can’e even sing a note..
Comment by evanora — Wednesday, 21 June, 2006 @ 12:47
The open auditions in manchester were horrendous. They were exhausting as we had to que from the night before, and a complete waste of time. It was full of idiots serching for their 15 mins of fame, whereas im a talented singer, with a life long ambition and i didnt get through. It didnt bother me that they didnt allow me to the next stage, but what i care about is that i wasted money on a holiday i missed, wasted a whole weekend in Mnachester in the freezing cold, with drunken hooligans, who smoked and shouted all night outside the main entrance. And the most important thing that hurts so much is that my dog fell ill over the weekend and she had to suffer till i got back. Then after a horrendous weekend, i had to put my beloved, best friend to sleep. So id say overall it was the worst few days of my life.
A word of advice - only do X factor for a laugh. Any one with real talent should try other means of making it big and get noticed.Trust me the type of people that go to these auditions are trampy with a few exceptions. Its for televison. The really horrific people get through for entertainment.
Comment by MARIA — Wednesday, 21 June, 2006 @ 16:12
The auditions (open) were horrendous, unorganised, a waste of peoples time, energy and effort. Producers were rude and disgraceful, unapreciative.
The process was a disgrace. They used talented and talentless people for filming purposes.
They already had their bunch planned.

Well Guys,
I had my recall today in Birmingham….
Got through to see the Three Wise Men but it all went tits up…..
I’ve been singing for years and even have given coaching in the past but it didn’t prepare me for how nervous I was….
Simon really liked me and tried to get me through by asking for more songs… I FLUFFED it BIG TIME
GUYS, BE PREPARED TO SING MORE THAN TWO SONGS AND KNOW THEM LIKE THE BACK OF YOUR HAND…..
I’ve been in music on and off for a while but this is my last shot at doing it myself…….
I’M GONNA DO A DARIOS AND GO TO THE GLASGOW AUDITION TO SEE IF I CAN GET THROUGH AND THIS TIME DO IT RIGHT…
SHOULD MAKE THEM SOME GOOD TV HEY…..
PLEASE COULD ONE OF YOU LOVELY PEOLPE LET ME KNOW IF THE 12th JULY IS THE FIRST AUDITION AND WHERE…….
GO TO MY MYSPACE AND SEND ME A MESSAGE AS I’M AWAY IN INDIA TILL THE 10th JULY…..
GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU……
OH, THE THREE WISE MEN ARE REALLY NICE.. MUCH NICER THAN THE PRE-JUDGES… THE ONE I SAW ANYWAY…..

Comment by Vix — Friday, 30 June, 2006 @ 18:13
Hi all.
I have my audition next week in Glasgow. 12th July at the Crowne Plaza. I’m going to be driving up and will probably arrive at the hotel around 7am. That gives me plenty of time to prepare/get dressed so on and so forth.
For those that didn’t get through, please don’t be disheartened. I know that there are lots of you who say ‘this is my dream and now it’s shattered’, but that’s not true.
If you want something badly enough, you will do whatever it takes to reach that goal. How many auditions do you think some of the biggest music stars in the world went through to get their lucky breaks?
Madonna went through endless auditions and was continuously rejected. It was Desperately Seeking Susan that gave her a break.
Even though I am auditioning, I will not be fazed whether I get through or not. It’s a gameshow, and to be honest that’s all it will ever be. Yes, it would be nice to meet Simon, Louis and Sharon, but rejection is not the end of the world.
Anyway, if I don’t get through, I have another audition on the 23rd for Radio 2 or 4, Voice of Musical Theatre competition.
Sensationalism makes tv. That’s what brings the viewers in. We have been conditioned to watch and laugh and cringe at other peoples misfortunes.
It’s sad, and yet I still find myself addicted.
Oh, and Kevin (5th May), this programme is most definitely not as psycholigically damaging as Big Brother. The people that don’t get through aren’t continually exposed to cameras and kept under ‘lock and key’. There is no public to judge them on what they have or haven’t done.

me and my friend auditioned for the xfactor for macmillan cancer relief on june 5th 2006 and we waited a whole 7 hours to be told that we could go through the the next round which was being held on the friday! we woke up at 3am to travel to london by bus from dover and we got there at 9am waited 5hours because we was the last pair in and we was told no straight away! this really peed us off because they know before you go in who is going through and who isnt! they just dragged us up there again and wasted macmillans money so that could keep there numbers up so it would look good on the tv! and we could have raised £640 for macmillan if they had put us through to the judges on the same day but they refused to let us! heartless ********

Its a pity the first round was judged by nobodies,a lot of talent walked out of the irish auditions and a lot of crap put through.Anyone with real talent will be sitting at home watching the rubbish that was selected over them when the show starts.load of arse if you ask me.

hi
i auditioned for the x factor at glasgow today..didnt get thru to the 2nd rd.D’OH! its sooooo nerve wracking!.the producer guy asked me why i was there and i hadnt really prepared an answer so i was a bit stumped…the usual ‘oh my friends say i can sing’ crap came out! (god)
i think he was a bit unsure about me first and made me sing another before blowing me off..ah well. however i seen someone put through without even singing a note! (an arabian girl with a magic carpet..keep an eye out for her. anyway to all of you that are disappointed. there were two girls in front of me who were really great singers but they didnt last one song. i think they are def looking for the freaks!!! ahh well, we all love to watch them anyway and it makes great tv so dont be too disheartened!!!!

Don’t let the fame get to your head and confuse your feelings for her, ’cause she was there for you even before all this and she rooted for you all though X factor.
