Shayne appeared on GMTV yesterday and was interviewed by Lorraine Kelly about his X Factor win and then later went on to perform his single “That’s My Goal” which is released tomorrow (Wed 21st).
When asked about his reaction to winning, a shell-shocked Shanye said that it hadn’t sunk in yet. “I just don’t know whats going on, it just doesn’t feel real. I still don’t have a clue how big the X Factor is outside because I’ve been living in a bubble. I’m just excited to see what’s going to happen.” He added that his three brothers and sisters could not believe it and had been running round the streets of Manchester, knocking on peoples doors and telling them that he’s through.
Shayne said that he cannot wait for the X Factor 2006 Tour when at least eight of the twelve acts will be re-united to perform live. “All of us from day one just believed that we weren’t in competition with each other and we just went out to give a great show and we said whoever wins, we are behind them 100%, so that’s what the nice thing was, it was genuine.”
When asked about his future plans he said that he wants to take his Mum on holiday because she has never been outside the UK and doesn’t even have a passport.
Shayne has a busy schedule ahead of him, with appearances today on The Chris Moyles Breakfast Show, Johnny Vaughn’s breakfast show, Des and Mel and tommorrow he is heading back to his home town of Manchester where a special homecoming event is being held at the Arndale Centre in Manchester, where he used to work.
So happy Shayne won, i knew from the start that he wud. I love him so much and he has such a wicked voice, he is gorgous!!
