Kate Thornton And Shayne Rumoured To Be Close

According to The Daily Star, Kate Thornton, the 32 year old presenter of X Factor, has been told to cool her friendship with Shayne after it was discovered that he has been visiting her dressing room for a series of chats.

An insider from The X Factor Show has told The Daily Star that “Shayne has gone to see Kate in her dressing room for pep talks and claims she is like this cool big sister. Kate’s been told not to favour Shayne so openly in the interests of impartiality but everyone thinks they will become an item after the show finishes. He follows her around like a lovesick puppy,”

The Conways Speak Out About X Factor

Simon Cowell admitted that for a few weeks he had thought that there was no way The Conways could win the competition, and on last Saturday’s Xtra Factor, he used this as his reason to explain why he chose to keep Chico Slimani in the competition rather than his own act The Conway Sisters.

Speaking about their X Factor experience, 22 year old Marie Conway said “He didn’t really know what to do with us as a band. He was completely lost. It was a relief to him that we decided to choose our own songs. Obviously, we’re a bit upset, but we felt it was our week to go. We’ve been in the bottom two for the past few weeks and we weren’t getting a huge amount of support from our mentor.”

Sinéad Conway said that there would be no hard feelings towards Simon Cowell, insisting that they still had a lot of respect for him and that Simon had said “Girls, we’ll speak next week and I do have some plans for you.”

Shayne Hits The High Notes And Breezes Through To X Factor’s Final Five

Shayne Ward can really do no wrong in the eyes of the judges. Last night, he once again proved his versatility as he sang his rendition of The Darkness’ “I Believe In A Thing Called Love” to the sheer delight of both the audience and the judges.

Although Shayne admitted that when he heard Louis had quit, he felt shocked and for the first time he felt alone, being the only one left in his 16-24 category and now without a mentor. However, Louis returned and Shayne’s troubles of the past week were not reflected in his performance. As usual, he received great comments from all three judges:

Simon Cowell “On paper, Shayne, that should have been a disaster, however, you pulled it off, it was terrific. You’ve got, I think, the capability of what Robbies got, which is to take a song outside of your comfort zone, have fun with it, entertain an audience. I thought it was terrific – well done.”

Sharon Osbourne – “It was really nice to see you having fun up there and I really thought you were having a good time up there at this stage in the competition its very rare, its good to see that. However, that song is awfully annoying, but with your voice… its a gimmicky song. It was fun for you to do and you know what you are a star.”

Louis Walsh “Shayne I actually hated the Darkness’ version of that song but, your version was absolutely fantastic. You’ve proved that you’re a very versatile singer, you’ve got the X Factor, the fun factor and the sex factor. You’ve got everything.”

Shanye said the judges comments have put the biggest smile on his face.

Brenda Predicted To Be In The X Factor Final By Simon Cowell

Last night, Brenda wowed the judges with her performance of Whitney Houston’s classic ballad “I will Always Love You” with Simon being so impressed by her performance on the night, that he predicted her to be in the final two.

Said Simon “A couple of weeks ago I was quoted as saying it was going to be an all male final, I was wrong. That was, for me, magical. I just loved it. Its so associated with Whitney that song, but you held the money notes just right. I think it was your best performance so far.” Sharon also commented that Brenda had “a wicked set of pipes” on her.

Brenda, who is the only female left now in the competition, said that she just hopes that the audiences vote for her to get a woman into the final and that she would love to get up there and show everyone what she can do.
