According to this BBC ‘news’ article, Kevin Yeandel - an IT worker who looks a bit like Simon Cowell - is to attempt to take up employment as a record producer.
I for one am very pleased that Mr Yeandel has shown us what it takes to be successful in business - namely, to look sort of like someone who actually is successful .
Marvelous.

Crikey! Don’t forget the mascara at Alnwick Theatre! I certainly did dye my hair and eyebrows for £600/night + expenses and all the beer I could drink, to meet Simon Cowell once or twice a year, mingle with people like Jamie Cullum, various Corrie and TV celebs, get an invite to Cowells private party (before he took a dislike to me), meet his mum, brother and so forth, meet that lovely Kate chick of the X-Factor several times (she’s a personal favourite though I don’t watch the show) thump Louis Walsh (um it was an accident), go to Las Vegas have some lady ‘assault’ me in public with a couple of fake things she kept in her top, be in a pop vid that got to 34 or something. As for the girl - no idea what Cara is on about there, we recorded something at the Lowry Theatre if that’s what she means. Frankly the whole thing has been an insight into another world and I am grateful for the opportunity.
Life has been good - even though there’s a few wanting to bring me down and I do get the odd fella wanting to trash my clothes and thow punches but so far I’ve been lucky.
If you come to Jumpin Jaks in Basildon on 28th November this year you will see a slightly chubbier and paler Simon doing some judging - it’s a one-off for an old client. I’ve given it all up now. While I am there for the ‘entertainment’ part again I do actually take the business seriously and am aware that contestants do too - the reason I went on music + music management training courses for 2 years - something I didn’t have to do but felt I owed it to them. This led to jointly run a management company with a new artist that has developed and earns our company money so it’s not been a failure. We’ve just cut her first main pop video and it’s in editing at the moment. I hope she gets somewhere because she deserves it and we’ll continue to do our best for her in what is the toughest industry on Earth.
